Need Sub Frame: 2007 TL's 6 Spd Manual
Hello all; not sure if this is the correct place for this post; so don't flame me. ok so my car was hit back in December; while it was parked. because of the impact; the front sub frame was cracked; so it needs to be replaced. the issue is that this part has been on back order for a while now; and Acura is telling me that they will not be available till around June or July. my car is already fixed; well almost, still at the body-shop just waiting for the sub-frame. as you can imagine i don't want to wait that long to get my car fixed. i'll go crazy without driving my car for that long.. plus i'm concern about my car sitting there for that long; without any use; i don't think the body-shop will take the time to turn it on once in a while.
so at this point I'm considering buying a used sub-frame; in good condition of-course. but that can be difficult too; because; as i understand; there aren't that many Manual out there. and the AT and Manual use different sub-frame. further more it will need to be a 2007 or 2008 Type S Manual Sub-frame. i've called few places already and no luck. i'm in the Bronx, New York area.
these are the Parts number for the sub-frame:
50200-SEP-A12 for 2007 TLS Manual
50200-SEP-A13 for 2008 TLS Manual
according to Acura Parts; the 2007 and 2008 are the same even though they have different part numbers.
any advise or help as to where i can get this will be much appreciated.
thank you all in advance.

PM user "Sick TLS". He might be able to find you one. Is the subframe on the 04-06 TL's workable?

04-06 subframe's are different than the 07-08.
my car was in the shop for 6 months because of the subframe.
I thought they were lying to me when they said they couldnt get their hands on one..
if needs to be; score one from the junkyard!
of course, the donor car cant be hit!

So i called the two places that Turbonut suggested; and they have it. so i called my body shop to tell them; and they told me they also found one. they should get it by friday. fingers crossed. i want to thank everyone for all your help. so if everything goes ok; i should get my car back within two weeks; instead of 6 or 7 months.
Turbonut thank you very much.
i'll keep you guys posted about the progress.

Just curious, how much is the used subframe costing you? Mine probably looks like swiss cheese...

ebelp; they're between $700 and $800 used. i think they cost around $1300 new. but i'm not paying for it; my insurance is covering everything; minus the deductible. i would have prefer to get it new; but i'm not willing to wait 6 months for the new one to be available.

I understand your concern. yes our subframes are made out of aluminun. that's why mine cracked instead of bending with the impact. Body Shop needs to imspect the used sub-frame to make sure there are not problems with it. Don't get me wrong; I was thinking the same thing. but it's either get a use subframe or wait 6 months for a new one..
