What I have:
2005 SSM A-spec

What I'm thinking:
Chrome A-specs? Not sure how it would turn out and I've never had chrome before, so I don't know if the maintenance would be worth it. Any opinions are welcomed and appreciated, and pics of this combo would be awesome!

That's the closest example I could come up with.

I think they'd look great if they look anything like those Ronjons. The maintenance? Maybe more than normal, but nothing horrendous I wouldn't think. Keep a rag and some cleaner in the boot and you'll be fine.

Don't worry too much about maintenance unless u live in an area where salt is used during the winter! I think they'll look good.

Chrome looks nice, but once it's chipped, it'll look terrible. You would probably be better off with alloy wheels with a painted finish (the gunmetal A-Specs)- if curbed or paint damaged, it's not as noticeable. I'd get slightly wider tires with a wheel protector (the rubber ridge built into the tire) to avoid curb damage. Wider = a plus one upgrade, so the tire is slightly wider (10 mm) and slightly taller (if you keep the same aspect ratio). On my stock 06 wheels, I'm running 245/45/17 Conti DWS, and although the tire is slightly taller, I have a much better (less firm) ride. Wheels are better protected as well from damage. Speedometer is off 0.8 mph (reads slow by this amount).

Lots of options here I see :P

I still really like the idea of chrome, but after what Aura said, I don't think it's worth the bother. I'm moving back to Colorado soon (should be a couple months) when I get out of the military.

I have the SSM A-specs and the clear is starting to peel and I have one that is being really weird, the paint is turning white in one corner. None of it is noticeable unless you're a foot away from the wheels. I think it's from driving in Twentynine Palms so much, which is where I'm stationed. There's a rumor that my insurance company gives military a free paintjob when they move away from Twentynine Palms, so I'm looking into that right now. Hopefully they include wheels, if they do it at all. Which brings me to my next inquiry...

What about gunmetal on SSM? That could actually be ubersecksy.

I have the chrome stockies on my 08, they look really nice for stock wheels I think, but they do get dirty quite often (I clean them every few days.) Also since I moved back to the northeast the last couple winters have really taken a toll on them. I think gunmetal would be the better choice.

WC, the RonJon Inspyres are excellent. Chrome now is not common too. So they would really stand out.

Yeah, the winters can make the upkeep on a car a huge PITA, especially if you like to keep it clean.

The Inspyres are discontinued anyway. We have the new Stryfe wheel as a replacement:
