Need Help with Tires, Which ones to get?
hey guys
with 47K on the TL, I need to change the tires, the Mechelin MX4M's I have right now suck, they are loud, soft and have no grip to them, plus their almost bald at the edges (I know, alignment needed)
I have been looking at tires and have gotten confused on which to get, these are the conditions I drive in:
Hot Florida Weather, Unpredictable rain (heavy at that), or dry like the desert.
Temps don't fall under 30, and no snow.
Drive on roads that are concrete and slabed, so there are those constant thumps
Need them to last over 30K
Need them to have a warranty upto 30K
Need good grip, I drive very spirited at times
Need to have comfort, I drive everyday on that slab concrete road, so they must be able to absorb all those stupid bumps.
NO MPG LOSS LIKE THE GOODYEAR F1 SERIES
No real budget, I can spend upto 1K on good tires that will last.
So far, I have found these:
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position with UNI-T AQ II -> all seasons
are there any other tires I should consider? Also how are those RE960 pole's, any good?

I cant promise 30k out of them- sticky tires wear out. I have experienced florida weather and would suggest the tires I am running now on my 01TL
General Exclaim UHP
rated #1 summer performace tire on tirerack, but has M&S rating due to advanced tread design and silica whatevers in the rubber. Good stuff is all I know.
AA wet braking rated- thats the best, most are A
They hang on as hard as I want to go wet or dry- able to use all the braking force my car now has, predictable is the best way to describe them IMO
check it out

most tire warranty is pro-rated for wearout vs time used, and you still end up paying a large % for replacement tires
get road hazard if you can- thats a saver~

Kumho Ecsta ASX. Go up a width or two for looks and rim protection. They're probably noisier than some others, but they guarantee 30K. That's the mileage on mine right now and I believe that they'll last until fall. You can buy a set of Bose silencing headphones with the 500 bucks you'll save and have money left over.

I'd also look into the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and Pirelli P Zero Neros, but I'm predisposed towards the Pole Positions and F-1s.
