Need help with offsets!

So... one of my wheels decided to get in a fight with a sidewalk...it lost.

I was trying to purchase another wheel which is 19x9.5 +25 but they are discontinued and only have 19x9.5 +20. What can I do? they guy told me I could still run it or get it machined to +20, a friend from lesschwab told me it would be really noticeable. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

get the +20 they're offering and add a 5mm spacer to each of your other 3 wheels.

or just search elsewhere and see if you can find a +25, i know you said they're discontinued, but you might get lucky if you look around.

honestly tho, 5mm is not much of a difference fwiw.

Wow, holy shit man, that sucks. But if they are +25 and that happened to you, +20 will sit even further out and maybe hit the fender again. Do you have a camber kit? If so maybe dial in some negative camber so it tucks up under the fender when you hit a bump.

What I would do is order the wheel in +20. Since the other side would be +25, just get a 5mm spacer so they match. I wouldn't go through the whole process of having the other rim machined down to be +20.

Guilty, I have yet to find some not so expensive all seasons for my A-spec's though.

^ He speaks highly of those, I'd take a look at them. I live in FL where it's summer 24/7 so I've never needed an All Season tire.

Take a stroll on discounttiredirect.com, they have awesome prices and excellent customer service, if you call, it's easy to bargain a bit. I got about $10 knocked off each of my tires and he threw valve stems in for free.

The cheapest I've found the Achilles ATR Sports are from onlinetires.com and tires-easy.com. They ride very nice, stretch well, and have an awesome tread wear rating. I had these on a previous setup I sold and I have them going on my new summer setup soon. Give them a look.

Not bashing onlinetires.com but I thought they were dirt cheap too, then they charge shipping so it evened out to what discounttire was going to charge me. I'm sure if you call onlinetires they would help you out too.

Just a thought

Yeah onlinetires charges shipping, which sucks. I would havd used DTD for sure because they price match, but DTD doesn't offer Achilles tires I got lucky because tires-easy actually lowered their prices of these tires and I got an email for free shipping. Of course the 215's weren't in stock, but I got the 225's with free shipping and only paid shipping for the 215's which was like $36.

So do you guys know which tire size is the best one for the 18" A-specs?

Before I can give you my recommendation on what size tires I need to know, are you going to stay at the ride height you are are now with them? Are you staying with stock offset (+45 I believe and they are 8.5" wide right) or are you using spacers for that setup?

No spacers, I found a wheel w/ 25 offset, but I might hold off and just buy the tires for the 18's, I am staying with the height though, unless you think I should raise it?

I guess depending on how much snow you get, it's your call if you want to raise it or not. I think the specs on the a-spec rims are 18x8.5 +45 correct me if I'm wrong, but being that low and having that offset it will look super sunk in being that low.

What I did for my winter setup (stock rims/tires) is use 15mm front and 20mm rear spacers so it still has a nice look to it even in the winter. I would run a 225/40 or 215/40 tire with the a-specs. After all a skinnier tire is better in the snow anyway and it already seems you don't mind having stretched tires based on you summer setup. A 215 on an 8.5" rim won't even look that stretched anyway. If you go with the Achilles tires I was talking about, those tires also stretch really well.

Hell I'm doing a 215/40 on a 9.5" in rim and the stretch doesn't even look like that much with these tires.

Yeah, I freaked out the family when I pulled up in streched 19's , I dont think it'll be that low but I might go low pro since you said it works better in snow, btw we dont get much of it here, just icy roads but I live like 5 minutes away from work, so its not like I'm going too far.

Thank's for all your help guys, I decided to buy some tires instead, this is how it sits right now, and I didn't even have to change the height.

Wow what a difference in how much fender gap there is between the 18's and 19's without touching the ride height. I have the stock 17's on and I'm tucking some tire, more in the front than the rear, so when I put my 18's on I'm probably not going to have to lower it very much to get the look I want.

You might not have to even touch it if you get a lower profile tire on your 18's

Tires will be 215/40 on 9.5" and 225/40 on 10.5"

After seeing John's (ebelp) car in person I'm definitely going to have to go a tad lower. Mostly in the rear, our fronts are pretty close, but that will probably have to come down as well too. Guess I'll find out when I can finally get the wheels put on.

damn sorry to see this bro...hope you find the right rim/spacer/setup so all of them look "even"....

I agree with Aaron, 5mm isnt much...def look into a spacer....

for winter tires, get the continental DWS...I know they are all season, but if you need to swap rims in the summer, you wont kill the winter tire....

If it was me, I'd buy two of the +20 wheels to go on the rear to make it a "staggered" setup. It's the more expensive option, but you wouldn't have to worry about running spacers on the other 3 wheels. Plus, if you were to ever resell the wheels, it would make it a little harder to sell the set when one wheel has a different offset. Also, there's a good chance the +20 will be more concave than the +25's, so visually, you might end up with one oddball wheel that doesn't match the rest. That would drive me nuts.
