Need help *post picture of your car on springs
hey guys i need some help. right now moneys tight and i really dont make alot with my job as im only 17 but i want to lower my car. i really want coilovers but right now it would take me months to save up just for a set. So im thinking of Springs.. can some of you guys post some pictures on your cars dropped on springs and how many inches did it drop ? i would like to get an idea of which springs to buy by looking at how low other cars were dropped. thanks you and have a great day

why not just save the money until you can afford what you really really want?
you're buying the sti lip and on an un-modded car it will stick out like a sore thumb...
I suggest skipping the STI lip and go for coils. on top of that, you're going to have to spend money to get the sti lip to actually fit....
plus, we have threads like this where it does show case "the drops that springs provide"

i'm with justin.
just save up for coils. do it once and do it right. almost everyone i know that went the springs route first ended up regretting it and buying coils later which means a 2nd install.

I would agree with saving your money until you get what you really want. If you want to see peoples cars on spring do a search. I know i have posted my car upwards of 10+ times with stock shocks and Tein S-Tech springs.

all the info is here on acurazine already...
a young college boy just needs to research and dig around.

I am 100% in agreement with what others have said here. You will regret and then up spending more (Parts AND labor) by going with springs and then not being satisfied.
I understand coils are more expensive but save man, or sell some things, work some OT, ect ect, it would be worth it.
Another thing to consider is you should be able to sell your stock suspension if its in good shape and re-coop some of the money you spend on the coils.
Do it once, do it right and no regrets!

Totally agree with these guys. There are pictures all over this site. I am a young kid as well and modding the tl is expensive (as I'm sure we all already know)! Its worth the wait to save up and get what you really want. Be patient. If you are going to do something, or spend your hard earned money, take the time to do it right the first time.
Just my opinion.

Actually what will happen is that you will purchase lowering springs and place them on your stock shocks. The stock shocks will then blow out and then you will be stuck without enough money to fix your car. and then pay double to have the problem fixed, so its actually cheaper to go with coils to begin with.

New wheel and tire thread... I researched this to determine what I wanted to do with my setup. Every possible spring set up is visible in these pages. You're welcome.

OP, credit cards are great.
you're at the age now where you can probably get one with a pretty nice spending limit. i'd say about $2000-$3000 to start.
now remember, they have a limit. so once you get to the max limit (say $3000) you won't be able to use the card anymore. but hey it won't matter, you'll already have plenty of depreciating mods on your car at that point so you can just throw the card away and forget all about it and it will never ever come back to bite you in the ass.
