Need to get ride of my stock mickeys...Whats the best ALL SEASON in SNOW

So I am probably going to throw some new rubber on my TLS next month.

I drive between ROC and Buffalo and TOR multiple times per week wether its storming or not... so the ALL seasons that arent really meant for snow wont cut it.
Im looking for some advice on what the best allseason that is out there is...

I have personal experience with...

Sumitomo HTR+
Goodyear Assurrance
TOYO ..Something...
Eagle F1's i think...

Out of these my favorites in the snow are actually yhre HTR+, but the rubber is alittle too soft for how many miles i drive. Then again they are only 85...

I try to get 50,000 miles out of my tires so that i dont need more than one set per year. The Good years were a grea tire in the snow and unstoppable in the rain...BUT they arent really sporty enough for the TLS

So many variables...

Thoughts are appreciated...

I think you are talking about Toyo Proxes4. I may try them out this winter as I to have heard they are good in the white stuff. Don't know much else about them such as tread life and noise. Perhaps others might chime in.

I just ordered Bridgestone Potenza RE960s so I will see how they do. I've read a lot of good reviews on those. I live in the Binghamton area so I know what kind of snow you get there. I would kinda lean towards getting dedicated winter tires and rims for driving in those types of storms.

I placed an order for some Bridgestone Potenza RE960s in 245/35R19 (front) and 275/30R19 (rear) as well. I'm from Washington State so this would work for my winter setup. I'm currently running on Toyo T1R tires.

I'm in Utica and I bought the 960's a few months ago. Awesome tire so far, although my mileage has dropped a bit. I'm anxious to try them in the snow. They really are confidence inspiring in the rain!

The best all-season tires in the snow are the Continental ExtremeContact and the Sumitomo HTR+, according to ConsumerReport's 2007 UHP A/S tire test. The Toyo Proxes 4, OTOH, was tied for worst in the snow.

The ExtremeContact are superior to the HTR+ in hydroplane resistance, noise & ride quality, rolling resistance and tread life. OTOH, they have the ugliest sidewall I've ever seen and the tread design isn't exactly what I would call modern. Still, the ExtremeContact would be the only suitable upgrade path for you if you want similar snow & ice traction to the HTR+.

Actually, I completely forgot about Nokian. www.nokiantyre.com.

Nokian's line of all-season friction tires will provide outstanding snow traction and sporty handling.

Check out the new Nokian WRG2:

+1

I just removed HTR+, that for me, did not wear very well. They were cupping, feathering and were completely uneven across the tires after 15,000 miles. I had the alignment rechecked and it's within spec. I may have gotten a bad set or something, because I've had good luck with Summitomo tires in the past.

I purchased the ExtremeContact from tirerack for $110 each and Continental is running a promotion right now. Buy 4 tires and receive a free $199 Navigon GPS. I've never had Continential tires before, so we'll see how they do and yes they have an ugly sidewall.
