Need a Camber kit and need to know which is the best one to buy.

So I have a 2005 TL 6speed with H&R Sport springs and Koni Yellows (bottom perch in front/middle perch in back). I had the car aligned about a week after the install and the guy said as expected that the test showed the car was in the red. So I decided to give it a whirl on the new tires to see how it went and that was a mistake.

Started to notice some noise during the highway and when I rotated the tires over the weekend, I noticed the inside edge was wearing more than any other part of the tire.

Should I get a camber kit front and rear? I really don't want to have any issues with another set of tires. I learned to bite the bullet before you need to spend extra money on tires. Please let me know what kits are the best to get. Thanks guys.

I say get the camber kit, you'll be happy in the long run!!!
I bought a set of Ingells that I will install with my tein SS.

I think stillhere153 has a set for sale in the black market....check and see if he still has them.

If your camber is off, tires still shouldnt wear that fast!!

btw, I thought Al's camber kit was a front camber kit, IDK though.

You sure they fixed your toe? Cuz thats what really screws up tread

I went for the Ignalls kit, both front and back. I'm lowered on 245/35/19 with about a 1 finger gap.

Tires have been on for around 11K and still look new!

You say that but I drive all highway miles and have 20k on these tires already so yeah I would see wear at this time. I already realized (a little too late) that I need a camber kit. That is not the question. I need to know from guys with the camber kit, if they like it and where they got it from.

I saw Stillhere153 had his for sale but I am gonna get a front and rear so I might as well get it from Excellerate or Heeltoe. I haven't heard back from them on pricing and availability.

Front kit doesn't matter which one you get, SPC or Ingalls, both the same. The rear kit I would go with Ingalls over SPC because Ingalls have toe adjustment too.

No worries man. Not everyone drives the car as much as I do. I am seeing the camber kit is a must for the rear, just not sure about the front. I see that it really doesn't hurt to have it on all 4 corners.

Might wanna read ^^^... according to Marcus, it's the other way around. I myself also found it to be true that the front tires wear out A WHOLE lot faster than the rear. The rear tires practically were in great condition compared to the front tires after i rotated them.

True dat.. I have 15K on my Volks/Falkens... 1.5+ inches on Tein SS. Rear camber is -2.1...

Tires look great. No measurable uneven wear. You don't need a camber kit... ever. I'm convinced.

Sounds like you got a toe problem.

I guess I will go to the alignment shop tomorrow and see if they come up with anything. It just sucks when you can't do this process yourself. You have no choice but to take the shops word that the car checked out and they adjusted everything. I will see what they say and let you guys know. Thanks.

well in actuality, my alignment print out spec sheet showed that everything was in the green except for the camber (about -2 degrees front and about -3 degrees in the rear). Toe, caster, and thrust angle were in the green. I'm gonna be ending up having to buy a front camber kit for sure because I am totally sure that I'm still getting inner tire wear even after getting an alignment. I can still hear a lot of noise inside my cabin coming from the tires, although not as loud as before, but none the less a noise that can still be heard. Referring back to Heeltoe's write up, a 2"+ drop will more than likely cause premature inner tire wear and negative camber, which will then require the installation of a camber kit. Today, im totally enjoying the joys of being lowered at maxed height while having to deal with the pains of riding low. LOL

In your case, i don't think your camber wear will be anywhere near where mine is. I suggest you just get a front camber kit and call it a day.

Camber kits are needed on an individual basis. A certain degree of negative camber can be good/without problem or desired for racing. However if you have too much difference in camber between front and rear, the car maybe squirmy at certain speeds and conditions. The rear camber kit on 3G TL will allow you to dial it in pretty good, to match the front, if even needed at all.

If your dropped around 2" or more, I would at least consider if its worth it.

I got a Comptech rear camber kit.
150 bucks for the kit at a local tuner shop.

I wasn't too concerned with tire wear, I just didn't like the look of the rear wheels not being straight. I had the camber kit installed at the same time the Eibach springs were put in. About a week and a half later I had the alignment done, and the camber adjusted back to factory specs. It looks really good... but it's all personal taste. Some guys like a bit of negative camber... I don't.
