Need better ride
#2
Uhmm, by an ES350??
Seriously: not sure if you are in the right car.
Most people want a firmer ride, not softer. If you've got an '07 Base/Base-Navi, then you've got about the softest ride Acura has put in a 3G TL.
Coil-Overs maybe, set to Extra Soft.

For pothole problems I would go with a 245/45 tire. The extra sidewall will give you more ground clearance, better rim protection, and a little more cushion from the potholes.
I would not recommend softening the suspension since it hits the bumpstops pretty easily already. You could end up with a harsher ride since softer springs will increase the likelyhood of hitting the stops.
If you're just unhappy with the ride over normal expansion joints and such, soften the suspension.

do any of the following items:
Replace shocks/spring assembly with 2007+ Acura TL BASE
Replace rims with 2003-2007 Honda accord rims
Buy new centercaps from acura for 1999+ TL STEEL rims
Buy new tires in this size:
235/50/16
this will provide an extra inch in sidewall height.
Also when buying tires, select touring tires as an option, not high perfomance ones, that should help with ride quality.

Thanks for the info. I just bought a 2005 TL, and while I like it, I was suprized at how hard it takes the bumps, becomes unstable on roads with small sequential bumps, and really is kind of a heavy, non-nimble car to drive. Hate to say it, but my 99 Mitsubishi Galant cornered a lot better than the TL (flame away). I guess it will take some getting used to the heavier car. Again, I like it, but more for the features than the handling. I sometimes wonder if I just got a bad one or something.
Ah well, I hate to complain. But I may take some of these suggestions to soften the blows a bit, so thanks!

^^ no, the stock suspension blows on this car... throw in some springs/koni's are a coilover system... that floaty & loose feeling will go away quickly
to the OP.... post some pics of that Base 07+ TL with the aspec kit.. looks bad-ass... i dont think we've seen a silver one yet with the lip!
