Need advice on Tires 06 TL and dealer question
I have a few questions for you guys.
I have a 06 TL that came with the Bridgestone Turanza EL42's. (horrible tire)
Anyway I only have about 10k on my car and my front left tire is basically gone. My rear tires are not that great either. So I am looking to get new all season tires.
I can't spend too much but I'd be willing to spend 100 a pop. I was looking at the Falken ZE 512 ZIEX. I know they are cheap and the reviews are good. So firstly just your opinion would be appreciated along with any advice.
I also called Acura directly and explained that how come my tires wasted so quickly and if they can do anything for me. They told me to take it to the dealer and speak to the manager about tires, and that if he will not help me then Acura will open a case for me. Any advice on this? What can I say?. One of my tires is used (more than others) but I am not sure if that's the one that's wearing out but in either case hopefully they do not know this. I am not trying to rip anyone off just trying to do this right. Please any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Steve
P.S. I am in NYC area.

If the wear remained consistent to 10,000 that would put the rears at 7/32 and the fronts at 5/32 and at 20,000 that would put the rears at 5/32 and the fronts at 1/32. (if I never rotate)
Your wear sounds excessive, take it to the dealer and let them evaluate the situation.

I have an '04 and was surprised my EL42s lasted 20,000. I just got Pirelli P-Zero Neros and am very happy with them. The diff between the Turanzas and these is amazing, it's like buying a new car.
FYI buy your tires from Tire Rack and have them shipped to an installer (they list them on their website) to save some $$$.

wow 10k miles. I bought my car from a family member, 4 sets of tires within 50k miles. I did get an alignment (all 4 tires were out)and you should get one too. Acura even said they checked the alignment and it was good, but I guess they were too lazy. Only thing is that there seems to be some understeer now.

Acura had a replacement program for excessive tire wear on 04 and 05 TLs. They replaced tires and made suspension adjustments. I would assume that those adjustments would have been incorporated into the 06 cars at the factory.
