My Dealers Response in Complaining about the tires!!
Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but I had to wait for the official word from the factory on your request to purchase Michelin tires for your vehicle and have Acura reimburse you for these tires.
The response from the Acura DPSM is that Bridgestone, the manufacture of the tires on your vehicle, been contacted with regards to the flat spotting issues and has agreed to replace the tires with a new design at no charge to any customer that has the confirmed condition present. Unfortunately, this replacement do NOT extend to other manufacturer's tires so no re-imbursement would be made to customers for purchasing another tire for your vehicle.
The replacement Bridgestone tires are currently widely unavailable for order, but we are able to create an urgency based on need with Acura directly. If your vehicle has not yet been into an Acura dealership for proper diagnosis, I would suggest contacting us to make an appointment to have the vehicle inspected, confirm the concern you have, and if needed, get the appropriate replacement tires on order for you. The tires do currently take 3-4 weeks to arrive. The tires currently on the vehicle are safe to drive on but do have a tendency to get flat spots in the tread compounds when parked overnight after the tires have gotten up to a relatively high operating temperature.(i.e periods of highway driving over 50 MPH and for over 10 miles of driving)
Thank you for your comments, Should you choose to have your vehicle diagnosed for this condition and for immediate assistance regarding your appointment date and time, please contact our service department at 732-238-5533.
They dont realize I DONT WANT BRIDGESTONE DAMMIT!! What should I do, do these new replacements really make a difference?? Is it worth it for me to take the car in... To be honest, I have the old version tires, but do not have major problems with them. I do get the vibration once in a while, but its very minor!! Not sure if getting these new tires will only make my problem worse........

Get the new tires from the dealer and immediately trade them in on the tires you want elsewhere before there are any miles on them. Talk to your local Michelin tire dealer and set it up with them beforehand. They will give you a credit on the POS bridgestones if they are a reputable tire shop.

Just complain to Acura Directly - I did and my dealer is replacing my Bridgestones with new Michelin Pilots ( Great Tires ) It worked for me. Sometimes you have to be very vocal to Acura and the Dealership before they listen. I know what I went through and all the yelling I did paid off. I know some people just don't have it in them to yell and be very vocal, but I do. Hey when you pay 30 plus K for a car you yell when you don't get what you deserve and believe me, I yell when I know I'm not getting what I should be getting.

This was a major concern with the original EL-42s, but not as much with the reformulated ones (at least the ones I have are fine).
How do I know if I have the reformulated EL42 tires?

We are having the same problem. Just replaced our tires with the same. The car sounds and drives like I am driving a pick up truck. Did you have any luck getting the dealer to put on Michelins? Thanks.

Thanks rets. I should have checked the garage. I have the new tires. Just did a little 350 mile trip. The car was awesome! Drove the GSP for the Jersey folks. Car passes very, very nicely
I didn't race anyone. But did hit 100 once. Don't tell the Troopers! Did 100 in my 01 TL too, and all I can say is there is a a huge difference. The 04 really hugs the road and 100 didn't even seem to make the thing work hard. Needless to say I'm impressed.
I'll have to reserve my EL42 opinion till we get some good snow here. Then I'll see just how bad they are, if they are.
