MT A-spec springs on AT?

Hey guys,

I just searched this topic and went through about 50 posts, i have 3 questions:

1) I just purchased some ron jon 19' inspyres * 8.5 (offset = +42)for my 06 TL w/ 245/35ZR19 tires. I AM going to lower the car, the problem is i have been reading a lot about drops over 1 inch' with the wrong offset will cause rubbing. Is this "rubbing" that people are talking about rubbing of the actual rim with the inner fender or suspension? I don't want to damage the wheels, the max i would lower would be approximately 1.5 all around. With that drop would i be looking at any major rubbing issues?

2) I also skimmed through another post where some guy used the a-spec suspension from the MT on the AT and said he achieved a 1.5 inch drop? My guess is the auto trans. springs are stiffer, because it has a heavier tranny. Is this safe? Will the MT trans. springs fit properly on the auto? Is that 1.5 inch drop an accurate number or is it inflated? That would be perfect and the warranty would still be honoured if it was possible

3) I want a noticeable drop, and i was wondering with the eibach's 1 inch drop if that is a substantial enough drop to notice the difference vs H&R's 1.5 inch drop? I am fully aware the eibach is closer to stock ride quality however are the H&R spring ride quality that more worse?

Thanks for the help~!

I have been researching this topic a good bit as well. Here are some threads you may or may not have seen.

From what I gather most have been OK with the MT Suspension on an AT. You are right about the heavier transmission. The AT suspension on the AT I hear is actually a bit higher in the front. It sounds like different people are getting different results. My big concern was that my stock was already at about a 1.8" gap. I am not looking to go another 1.5".

I ended up ordering the AT suspension, should have it in a few weeks. Hope this helps.
