mixing nitrogen and air

If you fill your tires with nitrogen and somewhere down the line you loose a pound or two, if nitrogen is not ready available, would it hurt to add air to them? Doesn't it just take a little of the purity out of the nitrogen? I pay attention to my pressures and trying to run to the station everytime they loose pressure is something I don't have time to do. One thought, couldn't you take a tank to a nitrogen fill station and store it until needed? According to the guy at this tire station, his machine pulls out the air and replaces it with nitrogen. Can it not just pump nitrogen into a tank?

FYI.

AIR = 78% Nitrogen + 21% Oxygen

It is not going to make a difference.

I had read a article and thought the same thing.... its not going to matter if its mixed, but I wanted to ask the ones who are running a mixture to see if it made a difference.

We bought new tires a year or so ago for the Odyssey from Costco, which uses nitrogen to fill the tires and then puts green caps on the valve stems. I exchanged the green caps for standard black ones, and have since added air from a gas station hose to increase the tire psi. I live in a temperate area and don't notice any differences between nitrogen in the van and air in the TL tires.

This whole nitrogen thing is retarded. Like a previous poster said.. AIR = 79% Nitrogen. I know your not paying for your nitrogen but some people do and its a waste of money. I'd rather get gas.

I am paying for it. The other source didn't work out. The wheels/tires came with nitrogen but only 30psi. It doesn't appear its going to make much difference so I'll be adding air to get them where they need to be.
