Michelin Tires

I had to replace 5 Michelin tires on my 02 TL-S. I purchased them from a regular tire shop. Costco will cover them for 50k miles. i will definitely be going there. This is a heads up for anyone buying thoses tires anywhere else, which wont cover them. Costco covers EVERYTHING on the tire. GO there!

The real question is why are you buying the POS stock tires... upgrade...

You can get better tires for less

that's what I was thinking. You can get the contiextremecontacts for less, and they are a high performance all season tire. I hear they perform really well for an all season tire in the snow.

What i forgot to mention was that Costco ONLY has those Michelin 17 inchers and no other. They are a special order. So if you buy those Contiextremes from somewhere, your not covered.

Have anyone inquired on stock tire replacements on other brands from Costco? I know they carry Bridgestones and I definitely won't buy another Michelin, ever. If we use winter tires, then it may be feasible to look at non- A/S tires that have the same VR rating. My own personal preference would be something that has a good balance of treadwear, wet/ dry traction and less noise.

Sumitumo HTR+. A lot quieter than the stock Michs, better grip and $79-$95 (per tire) off Tire Rack versus $179 (per tire) for the stock crappy Michs.

Sumitumo HTR+.

I just installed the sumi tires yesterday. MXMs had bubble and cost over $200 each at dealer who would not put on state inspection with bubble. They wanted me to by the MXMs from then to get my TL-S inspected. I said no thank you.
