Check out www.michelinman.com. Select Tire Catalog. Select Sports Car Tires. Slide your cursor over the various choices to check the ratings for that particular brand and sizing. Im looking into new tires as well and leaning more towards the higher performance (Pilot Sport or Pilot Sport A/S or Pilot Sport PS2). Good luck.

This is the BEST tire I have ever purchased! Expensive but worth every penny.
I usually buy a different tire everytime it's tire time. But, I bought 2 sets for my 2001 CLS.
However, I am tempted by the Falken 512s.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
They got me thru a typical Michigan winter...with no problems(245-45-17's on factory wheels). They also do not flat spot on those cold mornings...highly recommended.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND A/S! Had them on my old BMW, Best tires I have ever bought. I really want to get these tires again some time in the future for my TL. Does anyone know if these will fit the Stock TL Rim '05 TL

Check out reviews and tests on those two models at TireRack.com. Also the customer reviews. IMHO you'd do better w/ the Pilot Sport A/S, and other TL owners will also rave about 'em (and they have in this thread).
Personally, I'd be willing to say you could do as well or better than the Pilot Sports for less money -- particularly the Pirelli P-Zero Nero. But the Pilot Sport A/S is probably the best Michelin for this car, if you want a performance all-season tire.

This link will point you to a chart of ultra-high perf all seasons that includes both of your Michelin choices, and many others, almost all of which will come in the TL size. Clicking on the tire name will take you to its own page within TireRack, and from there you can get tests, reviews, survey data, specs, etc.
Have fun!
Oh, and TranTL -- yes the Pilot Sports come in stock TL size, at nearly $200 per (I think).
