Max width for 2003 TL-S

Hey how's everyone doin. I've been readin up and I want to get a set of Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S tires in 225/45/17. I'm pretty sure it says my rims are 17X6.5 on the window sticker....however i'm reading that a lot of people are putting 225/45/17s on. Tell me if this is possible. Thanks a lot guys.

I just went through this with my '03 TL-S. I ended up staying with the stock tire because the 225/45/17 is not recommended for our 6.5" rim.

From the many posting I have seen here, there are a lot of people running the 225/45/17 with no problem whatsoever. So, if I was in your shoes, I wouldn't hesitate to put the Pirelli on your car.

Good tire choice btw. I went with the Continental ContiExtreme - a decision I regret every single day when I get up to speed on the 401.

The tire is no noisier/quieter than the original Michelins. Much better snow traction; not as good on dry. My problem is I can't get these tires to balance up properly. Highway vibration is annoying the hell out of me. Next week, I am replacing a tire (already replaced one 2 weeks ago) and if this doesn't work, the tires are coming off.

Some people are going 235/45/17s on TLS rims. No problems whatsoever and the speedo reads correctly too, according to tire calculators on the internet.
