Matched 2004 A-Spec wheel paint?
Has anyone successfully matched the 2004 A-Spec wheel's paint color? I scuffed my rims the other day (AGAIN) and since it's very minor this time I'm thinking of fixing it myself witih some patience, sandpaper, and bondo. However, I have no idea how I'd match the paint, so if you have any suggestions please help

I am in the same boat, I just got some used a spec wheels, need to touch them up before i put them on.
A web site I found has the wheels listed as Anthrecite not gunmetal.........so would the OEM anthrecite color match? I can probably get the OEM paint in a can from duplicolor.

Do you know what cars came in that color?
I will need it for more than chips.......I was going to use a spray can.
I need to use some putty, than sand it smooth, than primer it than recoat those parts of the wheels.

Nice job, guys! When the weather is consistently nice I will give this a shot. I just washed my car yesterday (after about 5 months of not washing it) and boy, it looks nice!

hey RJ, do you have any pics? if it matches real well, I will give it a try, but I dont know how well it will match, plus I would have to clear the entire wheel probably

Everyone,
My apologies for the misunderstanding. I should have clarified that these were for the gunmetal colored rims. I shouldn't have assumed that everyone knew the 2004 A-Spec rims only came in one color! My apologies!

Update:
I just got the GM435 2 in 1 scratch fit kit ($7 bucks locally I know rip off)
They didn't have the spray can, but I thought I might as well try it and see if it matches before I buy the can online.............
I was surprised at how well it matches the wheels.........its as good as touch up paint you would expect from Acura........blends pretty well with the OEM A spec gunmetal look, and is perfect for the small scratches..........I will take some before and after shots.......
I have 2 wheels to fix up, I think I am going to just "touch" them up and see if they look ok, I dont expect them to be perfect looking, as long as the scratches don't hit your eyes when they are installed I am happy.

I think the GM435 is a very reasonable match. However, I think if you are going to spray it on the results may be a bit different than the touch up. The paint on the Gunmetal looks to me to have a clear coat. The touch up does a good job matching the scratches but in broad applications the one part touch up may look very different than the somewhat flatter gunmetal grey with clear coat.

But if I were to refinish them, after sanding out the rough parts, I would prime the entire wheel, paint the entire wheel, and clear the entire wheels.........this way you can not see the diff in the shades...........
I just touched up the wheels, they were real bad before, they are not as bad now, nothing close to perfect, but enough or me to be ok with it. Regardless I will get some curbs on them anyways, being as they are 8.5" wide and only have a 235 wide tire...............
Next tires I get will deff be 255 wide, and at that point I might fork out the money to get the wheels refinished professionally.

i actually started a thread on this last week or so, no dice either. however in this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/painted-wheels-please-come-706716/
Powerflow painted his wheels and it seems to me that it's close to the a specs, i could be wrong as i haven't done a true side by side compare but it looks really good. and done with high quality. I was going to head to the dealer tomorrow and see if they know anything but it seems that someone from this thread already tried. I will see what i come up with and follow up tomorrow. hope this helps you out
