Lowering with springs question.

Lowering with springs question.
I recently purchased some Tein S-Tech lowering springs. I'm installing them myself with a friend who knows more about cars then I do, and he's teaching me as we go along. After taking off the wheel and removing the cross bar in the engine compartment, we were taking off the brake calipers and one of the bolts we can get off about 1/4 of the way then it just stops moving. We already broke 2 wrenches, and the impact gun won't move it. We don't know how to get it off ideas would be great. Another thing is that my friend says I need another part too replace something. He can't remember the name of it.? He says it will be needed because the new springs lower the car and make something not sit properly because its not made for lowering springs. I apologies for the wording but I did the best I could with what I know.

First off, why in the world are you removing brake calipers to install new springs??? You do not need to remove any brake components to install shocks and springs
As for this extra part your speaking of, there should be nothing else needed when installing just lowering springs. All your doing is replacing the springs themselves nothing else required. Don't make this job more complicated than it really is ;-)

Your boy is probably talking about a camber kit. After I installed my s techs I ended up with a lot of negative camber. Apparently for a proper alignment you'll need it. Just had my kit installed at the shop for $50. Research the crap out of this website and good luck

I think everyone on here has said it for me... but ill say it again:
1. No brake parts need to come off to put springs on
2. It sounds like your friend that knows more about cars then you does not know enough to be working on a car.
3. Take it to someone that has do the job before and will do it right to keep you safe and others as well.

What you will need are camber kit. While some people might not need it with being only on springs i highly suggest you get them and install them on while putting in the springs and get an alignment after all lowered. Save the hassle of finding out you need it and you wish you already installed and a trip to the alignment rack. Since you already said your car had alot of negative camber, you will need a camber kit. Dont want to lowered and find out in a week or two your tires treads are gone unevenly then you would need to dish out more money getting new tires.

OP didn't say he had negative camber, that was me. Or at least I used to. But since the OP hasn't bothered responding to any of us, I feel this is all a waste.
Honestly I'm just trying to get up to at least 5 post and such.

OP, he was likely talking about getting adjustable camber/toe arms aka Ingalls camber kit. Are you on stock wheels? If so, you're fine. If you're on aftermarket wheels, tell us your specs and we should be able to help you decide whether or not a camber kit is going to be necessary.
