Lowering springs? Which is better?
Hey guys, I wanna lower my car 1.5-2.00". I want to know which is better. Eibach, Apex, Tein, or Megan Racing? I want a stiff ride, but not too stiff. Let me hear your opinions please!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yea, i've heard a lot about TEIN springs, mostly good but trying to keep the opinions wide and I would get coilovers but they aren't as need much

I got Megans too. Love them! For the amount of time to do your suspension, pay a bit more and get a Coilover set. This will allow you to fine tune your set up in the event if you want more or less drop. You won't regret it.

WSA, I took Bearcat's advice and ordered H&R Springs for my Type S. They should be in shortly-I'm anxious to get them on.

I stopped doing springs back in the 90's. When we had to cut the original to drop the car. Pay the extra money for coilovers. That way you can raise or lowered as needed.

Technically Eibach's sprotline brand and not the pro kit were made for accords, but they fit the TL as I just got mine installed. They gave me a 2'f and a 1.5'r... looks good and ride good.

I will counter this statement with my own... Don't waste your money on coilovers if you are on a budget. I have never had the desire or needed to raise or drop any of my cars after having them lowered. Is it a nice option to have, having the ability to fine-tune your suspension on the fly? I suppose, if one feels that it is necessary. I say save yourself a few hundred bucks, or put the money saved toward a J-Pipe if you want to spend more money on your car.

I echo this statement from Red Voodoo. When I looked at coilovers, they would have cost me ~$1,500. For a one to one and a half inch drop, that was too much money. I already like the ride of the Type S suspension and wanted to keep that ride and feel. So the springs were an excellent option for me.

thanks... now working on spacers and trying to find the right rim specs.... leaning towards 18.8f and 18.9 rear with et40-45f and a et35r.
off topic question*****
I heard you need to change the lug bolt when you use any spacers bigger than 5mm (don't want to do that) or a rim width of 9.5. is that true?

Some would contradict but I think I can safely say that aggressive drivers need coilovers, and relaxed drivers can get by with springs (and save mad $$).
I think I'm gonna go get Eibach or H&R. If you lowered it about 1.5" all around will your bumper scrap if you go down a usual dip?[/QU
either of the two would be a good buy as the H&R's were second on my list... but if u go with the eibachs, get the sportline edition.

Good choice on springs. On the usual dip the only thing that should scrape is the black plastic thing under the bumber. That alone sounds scary but no big deal. And if your actual bumper scrapes, at least you can't see it. Hell there were scrapes under my front bumper before I bought and lowered it.

@raydiddy where did you get your springs? Can't seem to find the Sportline edition.
I see a couple of springs on Andy's Auto Sport website. Opinions?

It doesn't look like Eibach makes a kit for the TL to lower as much as you want. Pro-Kit is the only thing listed in their application guide and that's 1 inch all around.

the eibach part number is 4.4440 and they are listed for the honda accord, but they fit the TL...
If in doubt I say just roll with the H&R's tho...

My TL with Eibach Pro-Kit Springs:
[IMG][/IMG]
No complain with the ride and looks with stockies. But with 19" wheels:
[IMG][/IMG]
Still happy with the look but there's some rear side rubbing during hard cornering. I'm thinking to move to coilovers hoping to set a stiffer ride to avoid the rubbing. So think twice if your plans include 19" inch wheels. My

Heres 2 pics to show justice. The details say its a 1.5" for the back, and 1.2" for the front.
I didn't measure though, was way to tired, and just wanted to get done with everything.
