My wife has an 03 BMW 325 cic which for those who don't know is a convertible. It has sport suspension which gives the car a look of sitting right on top of the tires, no space in the wheel wells, it looks great. I want this look on my 08 TLs, I just don't want to change the quality of the ride, which is rough to begin with. If by lowering the car I enhance the handling, all the better. I'm no kid, in fact I'm 66 years old, but I know what I like. What would you recommend and where would I take it to have this work done? I might be wrong, but I don't see a regular indy doing this type of work. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hey Bill!
there are two types of ways of lowering..

you can buy springs that are lower(pre-set) than the OEM springs and pair them with factory shocks

or

you can buy a coilover system that allows you to adjust the height of the car by adjusting it.

Or you can buy a good spring and shock combo which is better considering you don't have to deal with the hassels of buying random after market brands. The spring shock combo has Koni backing them and they're pretty sporty. As far as ride quality goes, good tire research can help with that. I was running michelin's earlier and they were pretty rough. Switched to Continental DWS and the ride is pretty smooth now. Just a couple options to think of.

I have Tein-S Tech springs on my TL on stock shocks and it rides almost the same as stock but handles way better. I would say it may be a touch rougher but my Fiance didnt even notice a difference... She is the true test! If you go with a full coilover setup it will for sure be more rough.
