Lowering on HT Spec Type 1 Thursday, need alignment info

ok so after these have been sitting in my livingroom for almost a month I am going to install them thursday morning. I found an alignment shop that specializes in lowered cars. I tried searching and im getting mixed info on what im looking for. they said its going to be 60 bucks to align the front. and another 40 to do the rear if I wanted to. question is do I need to do both or do I just need the front done? I am going to be lowering it approx. 2.25-2.5" give or take, plan on playing with the height after install. I am not going to be running a camber kit as of yet if that matters. thanks for any info

if you're lowering front and back (why wouldn't you do this)...4 wheel align. you're changing the geometry of your suspension at all 4 corners.

though i think you might want to figure out which "perch" you want the car to stay at (most of the time) and then get it aligned. anytime you lower or go higher you would have a change in geometry. this from my understanding. anytime you make suspension mods (shocks) need alignment all four corners...unless you only changed the back or the front...then get the respective ends aligned.

if you want to eat tires...then....

also going lower...like > 2 inches...might want to consider a camber kit for back...the TL already has tire cupping issues due to camber wear...lowering it makes the camber worse. with aspec...you can get away without a camber kit since its such a subtle drop at 1 inch max.

i'm sure others with similar set ups (moderate to aggressive drops) can chime in on the use of camber kits as well.

Ya I assumed I should do both front and rear but I've heard some people say you don't need to. And how long can u go without alignment if im not sure of which perch I want it to sit on ?

dude i would get an alignment either way....

Also why dont you look into Firestone....some of the new centers have a underground drive on ramp (1 minutes to drive on and 1 minute to drive off ) so you dont need to drive it on a inclined ramp (it took them 45 minutes to get my car on and 30 ti get it off the old inclined ramps )....and its like 150-160 for lifetime alignment....I go there everytime i do my oil change (7.5K miles)

Also I have front and rear camber kits....FYI

here is the specs you need to be in....I am writing this from my Firestone alignment sheet:

Front
Camber: -1.0 to 0.0
Caster: 2.5 to 4.0
Toe: -0.08 to 0.08
Cross Camber: -0.8 to 0.8
Cross Caster: -0.8 to 0.8

Rear
Camber: -1.5 to 0.5
Toe: -0.08 to 0.08
Cross Camber: -0.8 to 0.8

Ya I'm def getting an alignment just not sure if I should wait til I have my perfect height. ,
And as far as firestone goes I called two and they said they couldn't do lowered cars and even if they could they wouldn't offer the lifetime.

You may need a camber kit in the rear @ least for them to get the toe in spec. The toe is what eats your tires and at least that should be in spec. I would get an alignment after achieving the desired height which for me took up to 3 weeks.

I'm not as low as you are and I needed a rear camber kit.

Plus the shop you are taking the car to is raping you on pricing. I pay $60 for all 4 wheels to be aligned.
