Lower..slam it...leave it???

wuts up...

the #1 question problem i have it is to either lower my car or not...ill tell you why.

before i had a 2 door civic for 3 yrs .it is just me and my girlfriend driving it in. no other passengers. so having it slammed with no rubbing was never an issue

had my tl for 2 months now and i have been driving with more passengers then normal as the car is bigger to travel with. it might just be a summer thing for now...but

i do want to lower my tl next summer but still have the option to drive with more then 2 ppl in the car. im afraid if i lower or slam the car and have 4 ppl in the car its gonna rub like crazy!!!!

im plannin to purchase tein springs just to lower it...and the ppl i travel with are usually not over 190lbs. currently have 20' rims with 255/30/20 tires

do you guys think i will have lots of rubbing? with the car being lowered and have 4 ppl in the car including myself!???

thanks for the read guys...

^^he's a pisser this one (referring to guitarplayer)...haha

8.5" is the width. ur offset is (for our cars) typically a two digit number. for example, 19x9.5 +38...the 38 would be ur wheel offset

OP - if you have 255 all around and you lower it, there's going to be some rubbing, especially from the front if you lower it and don't roll your fenders. It also depends on your offset as well to determined if they rub. My 235/35/19 +35 don't rub at all with 4 people with one weighing over 300lbs. Only my front fenders are rolled right now until I can get the back ones rolled to accommodate my new wheels.

OP if you lower it get coilovers so you can adjust them. I lowered and raised my car about 5 times the first month I put them on just to get the height right where I wanted it.

More info on your Wheel Specs is needed... Since you plan on doing this quite some time down the road anyway, save up & get some Coils instead, then you'd have the adjustablilty option.

i was thinking this exact same thing.

when i know im going to have more people on the car i can always raise it up for the weekend and vice versa....(if this is possible)

but was advised that i will need a alignment everytime...

i have no idea what the offset is...sorry for all the real f-ed up questions but really appreciate the feedback...

these are the tires i have

i think with a 255 you will rub in the front regardless of the offsets that is just a wide tire to run on a TL especially in the front and especially if you lower more than 1"

You would need to remove the rim and look in the inside barrel or behind the spokes they usually stamp the offset there

you would most likely need to run narrower tires like a 225/35/20 i think even a 235/30/20 would still rub up front 20 can be a pain to fit

go see what is your tire size at least, front and rear, then some may be able to help with at least this...

and hopefully you'll lower it looks soooo goood!

And for what you said, i don't think you'll want to raise/lower your car EVERY weekends...

look for some pics with different springs w/ 20'' wheels, it'll give you a good idea of the stance of your car...
