lower my TL??? help

i was thinking about lowering my 2004 TL. i want to lower it about 1.2"-1.75". i think that would be perfect but i was wondering what i should get in order to do this and how i would go about doing it...

coilovers vs lowering springs? whats better?
and could i keep my oem shocks or would i need new ones?

long story short, whats the best way to lower my car without paying a bunch of money?

springs are the cheapest but if you only get those OEM shocks will go faster so you would need to replace the shocks eventually (much sooner then usual). but thats still cheaper then getting coilovers. Coilovers give you adjustable height settings but if you are only gonna go as low as you say i would say get springs. Much cheaper. I am going in the same direction.

I'm going to do the same but with H&R sport springs, lowers front 1.4 and rear 1.3. Take a Look at this thread...

ive heard h&r are really good springs. ive heard tein spring are expensive and eibach are pretty good too. so far the h&r are getting the best rep by dropping the car perfectly around the 1.5" range (give or take).

so if i go with springs, i should get some shocks too? i heard tokico had some really good shocks...is that true??

Tein Basic-install yourself. DON'T WASTE your time with springs only.

if you do springs then I would replace the oem shocks especially with the drop that you want.

I plan on lowering my car soon but i'm not sure what to get, Tein basic or koni shocks with eibachs. They are pretty much the same price. With the shocks u can adjust the ride setting and u can adjust the perch to allow it to go lower? Last time i was in a car with tein basic, it was stiff as hell. what are your thoughts?
