Looking for a Solid Answer

So, in regards to the weights of the OEM wheels, I have been searching for months, and never really truely got a solid answer...

I wanted to know the weight of the OEM Type-S wheel. I've seen people posting the 04-06 Wheel, with tire, in at around 47.85lbs...

People have said the 04-06 Wheel is roughly 24 - 27lbs.... Can somebody find me written PROOF of the weights of the OEM wheel? I am buying lightweight wheels and i really want to compare unsprung weight from the OEM wheel to my new purchases..

Thanks!

Hey black, I'm guessing you purchased those gloss black Rays from the Lexus forums.

^ lol.... no not sure about those yet.... im picking between two different sets of rays right now... i just want to know how much the OEM wheel weighs DEFINITELY... to see if my other choice is a good option

wheel 18x8.5 16.5 / 18x9 = 17.5lbs

or

19 x 8.5 21lbs

if OEM is 25+ i will probably get the 19's

Completely stock (2004 rim with EL-42 tire) is 46lbs. I don't have a picture, but I weighed it myself a few months ago.

From my research, I can tell you that a 19" wheel that weighs 21lbs is one of the lightest. Only Volk's CE's and TE's fall into this category from what I saw. Most 19" wheels weigh in at around 25lbs. Volk's GT series are ~25-26lbs. I would expect the RE's to weigh in around 19lbs, but I was never able to find a weight for them beyond the much hyped 16.2 for 18". That said, the 19" RPF1 weighs 19.8lbs for X8.5.

f^k i wish somebody would like put the damn wheel on a bathroom scale... theres never been a definite answer

i have seen an 04-06 TL wheel w/ stock tire & air weigh in at exactly 46.85

My Front Lexion cashed in at 61lbs and the rear was 63lbs with tire and air... serious sprung weight on the car

im gonna pull the trigger on the 19" rays... i was gonna get volk re30s... 18x8 , 18x9 -16.5/lbs F 17.5/lbs rear... but these wheels are a QUARTER of the price (the volks were used too!) and they cash in at 21lbs..and TPMS compatible...

now i just gotta decide what color to powder coat them when i get them next week!

Damn! Of course, those are 20's...but still...my 19's weigh 46lbs, same as stock. That's a huge difference.

Those Maxima wheels? They would look good in gun metal, and weigh the same as stock. The RE's are pricey because they are Volk's lightest, yet strongest, wheel. They're a lot like the RPF1's in that they only look good with a wide wheel and a low offset.

The "Maxima" wheels which you are referring to are as light as ce28's because in essence they are ce28's. Originally these wheels were designed to be Progressiv CE's. until they were later adopted by nissan to be in the nismo lineup by rays. So basically they are ce28's with progressive spokes.
