Leaking Coilover..

I originally posted this in the problem section but received no response, maybe I'll have some luck here...

Yesterday I noticed a small patch of oil sitting in my driveway from what appeared to be the rear of the car. Upon closer inspection I noticed that my right rear suspension looked to be leaking. I have Tein SS installed and was recently lowered after the winter season. I've had them installed for 13 months and over the winter I raised the coilovers a bit and about a week ago lowered them for the summer tires.
I had the car in for my type A13 service today and asked them to take a closer look, I have no way of lifting the car so I figured while it was up on the hoist they would best be able to see..and they confirmed the leak was from the coilover. Seeing as my warranty expired (1 year warranty btw) I called the place that I bought the suspension from and they offered me a contact in Canada that might be able to help. I called and apparently they said the coilovers are repairable but depending on what the damage is I may lose the adjustability of the units. If the unit is damaged due to the adjusting dampeners the only resolution is to install an automatic valve system that automatically adjusts compression and rebound. They have to repair not only the damaged unit but also the adjustment one, in this case my left rear.
Cost is $165 per side, so $330 for the rear and takes about 4 days at their shop.

Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone else experienced a leak like this?

The car is still on the road and to be honest I have not noticed a difference at all yet but I can't live knowing there is a leak that can lead to further damage.
