As the title states, how do you adjust it without taking the whole assembly out? what kind of compressor would you use?

you'll need a portable one... and even then it may be quicker to uninstall and do it

I thought there was an easier way of doing it. I remember reading it somewhere that you just need to jack it up, compress the spring and move the perch down

teins can be adjusted down without compressor-
its only when trying to raise them that the spring pre-load is too much to overcome with the small wrench for the average human

Is yours the same way?

i've heard of people using a shoe strings... tie them and after a handfull of strings the spring is compressed enough... ghetto... yes

but this is also another solution

You don't have enough room under the fender for most spring compressors. And shoe strings DEFINITELY won't work, esp on the front springs. The spring tension will just snap the shoe strings.

The best way is remove the assembly from the car, compress the spring, and move the spring perch.

You technically could do this but it is going to be such a pain in the ass you'll wish you just took the sus out. It is really not hard to do...
