Installed H&R Coilovers & Progress RSB

At first, they dropped it 2.5". It was too low so I went back and they made the total drop to be about 1.5". The difference is night and day. Car feels like it's planted to the ground. The handling doesn't compare to the 330i I had, but it's AWESOME for a FWD car.

I would highly recommend it! Only annoying thing is the squeaks from the back of the car. Still trying to figure out if it's the RSB squeaking or the rear suspension.

Pics will come next week!

Actually, it could be both! I have an '07 Type-S with the H&R Street Performance Coils, and my rear suspension squeaks regularly. Type-S's are known for that.

This isn't the case with my personal car and I have the Progress RSB, but when people change out their RSB's, they sometimes don't grease up the bushings enough, and a short time after installation, the RSB bushings squeak as well. Hope this helps!

This problem seems to be happening a lot once TL's are dropped.

Did you do BOTH the Progress RSB + Springs at the same time??
If NOT, did you notice the sqeak/rattle after the springs were installed?

I have had my Progress RSB for about 1 month.......NO ISSUES. I put a TON of GREASE on the new bushings........the little tube + some extra of my own.

I think it is the springs. It seems that the TL's don't like drops to the suspension OR you have to do a very SMALL drop.

I am in a position where I WANT A SPRING KIT, but I am afraid of the rattles/squeaks they can cause.
I am thinking about the Eibach Pro Kit (1" drop F/R) because it is such a SMALL drop.
I called Eibach, and was told that some springs (from other companies) that drop the car too much, put too much added "stress" on the suspension components = rattle/squeak/wear out faster IF the drop is too much.

Just my

I did both at the same time. The guy that installed it said that it's the RSB. However, then it was dropped 2.5", it squeaked A LOT but once they jacked it up 1.25", it didn't squeak as much.

Love the H&R Sport Springs. Stock Shocks, but I hope to get Kopi's someday ( ) and drop the car about another 1/4".

No Camber kit. Camber on the right (F & R) is actually still in spec; Camber on the left (F & R) is barely out. Corrected Toe with an alignment.

I love the H&R suspension. I got the H&R coilover kit so I assumed the shocks are made by H&R too. I personally prefer a firm ride since I'm used to it with European cars.

I defiantly need a rear camber kit because the guy at the shop said the rears are off by about -.3, or something like that.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. My BMW had eibach springs and I decided to get H&R with this acura. I will have pics up when after I get my car washed.

Most likely the squeaking noise is that the bushing for the RSB is not lubbed or greased enough

progress RSB's come with polyeurothane bushings that shouldnt have squeaking issues. I've had mine for about a year now without a peep.

Squeaks?????? Not sure what you guys are doing the suspension should not be making noise. You know I am still somewhat suspicious of all this lube being squirted all over the place too. You should not need tons of lube. There is only a small area where the grease actually fits in the bushing. Putting more just causes it to squish out and squished out lube is doing no good whatsoever. However much squishes out, that how much TOO MUCH you put in there.

The progress bar comes with a little tube and you only really need about half what they give you. The comptech bar has a waxed rubber bushing that needs no lube at all.

Yep dropzone seems like cheap crap.

H&R sway bars also have bushings that do not need lube when installed.

I'm looking to get a 2.5"-3" drop. Which coilovers are good for that at a decent price? I'm not really looking for top of the line, just decent.

I should be able to help out on these. Check out heeltoeauto.com on the cambers and send an email request on the H&R! We will tackle it Monday.

a-spec suspension/drop and have been fine with it for the past 4 years.

i dont know what squeaking is even possible with the Progress RSB, everything is pretty straight forward and the energy bushing is pretty good quality polyurethane.

seems so odd that alot of ppl have seemed to have this issue.

I agree. Mys suspicion is that people may be over-lubing, or using the wrong lube. And really switching to ES bushings should not be generally necessary either. I don't see whats wrong with the ones that the bars come with.
