Question If you put on new tires...

For all of you that have either changed tires due to wear or just wanted the stock rubber off - what kind of weights were put back on your rim when balanced? After my rebalance on one of my tires over the weekend - at a shop - not Acura, they used flat weights, but look nothing like the stock ones. I do not care because the rim has to be replaced anyway - I really pancaked it. But I was just wondering if people do not care or they have always gone back to Acura so it is no problem. I called my local acura shop and they said the weights they use are the stock ones that came with car. But I also found out they only use a spin balancer.

Also, did they remove the gunk from the old weight or did they leave it on. This shop left it on and it looks like crap. How does one remove this stuff? Goo Gone doesn't seem like she could handle this one...

Just curious - thanks.

Try nail polish remover or laquer thinner.
