I don't see TPMS !!! HELP
Hey guys im from Dominican Republic and i recently buyed a 2006 Acura TL with NAVI (in Dominican Republic the navi doesnt work but... its pretty cool anyways) the thing is the Multi-Function Display doesnt show any TPMS message, i dont see if my car really has the TPMS system.. i have the manual right now and i press the ">" three times like the manual said and nothing... .the thing is that :
Does my car has the TPMS installed?
Are the sensors ok?
I have 235/45/R17 (like Acura says)
How i can detect if my 2006 Acura TL has the sensors in the wheels?
Like the topic says.. I dont SEE in my CAR ANY TPMS word in the Multi Function display..
"Check TPMS system" doesnt show too...
Thanks..

Welcome to the forums.
2006 was the first year for TPMS in the TL's, so if it's a 2006 it should have it.
Check your vin here to make sure that you actually have a 2006. https://acurazine.com/forums/vindecoder.php
The wheels should have a flat area around the valve stem.
Did you buy it in the US? Is it possible it was made for export so it doesn't have the TPMS?

OP, Does your rim look like this

Specifically the indent around the valve stem.
Or does it look like this,
notice these are the same rim without the indent around the valve stem
The top pic is what your TPMS wheel should look like.
I remember seeing an '06 on a dealer lot around here years ago that had 2 '04-05 rims.

Si no puede acceder a carfax en DR es probable que no tenga la información sobre su coche. Solo si era de aqui.
Damn its been a while since I've written in spanish, fingers crossed i spelt correctly LOL. Wowo, this bordem/insomnia is a killer lol.
Cliffs: if they cant access carfax over there, they prob don't register the info into their database...(is that a safe assumption?)

If the valve stem looks rubber and you can wiggle it with your fingers, you DO NOT have a TPMS sensor on the rim. If the valve stem is metal and you can not wiggle it, then you DO have a TPMS sensor. The car could also have an in-direct TPMS system. An in-direct system does not have a TPMS sensor on the rim. It uses the abs system. When the ABS detects a wheel spinning less than the other 3 tires, the TPMS light will come on.
yes but probably as the sensor isnt installed on the car, the MID couldnt display anything because the MID cant give an information that doesnt have.. so... i can understand perfectly that... I have the valve but not the sensor, as I have unavailable the sensor then the information can not be seen
Trip A, Trip B, Oil Life, Outside Temperature, HandsFreeLink and KeyLessMemory Settings...i dont have the "Tire Pressure" Option!!... thats what i dont understand...
Is it possible that he has an 04-05 cluster swapped in..? If the car was imported it's possible they swapped the cluster to make the car appear as if it had fewer miles than it does.
And another thing.. when i swish the key to ON (II) possittion it does not show the Low Tire Pressure light)... damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
