I could use some help

I have a 2006 6m/t Tl. with brembro brakes in the front. I had type S rims on my car. I am thinking of switching to some tsw rims that are 18x8 or 20x8.5. Will I have any issues?

Yes, I was told by the TSW rep that pretty much any offset would NOT clear brembo brakes. You would need to run spacers to make that work.

You would want to stay around a 40 offset and run a 15mm spacer. Roughly. Which would negate any concavity you are trying to accomplish. The 20's MIGHT work was what I was told, but it was enough to turn me away.

You may want to try and call TSW but the rep and the discount tire who had never even seen a Type S in person told me straight away they would not fit.

If you are dead set on TSW then spacers are your only option. You may want to shop around for another brand. There are many companies that make a wheel that fits the brembos.

Good Luck.

IMO, 20's would be an inch too much (not on fitment just on looks) but it's your ride. Anybody reading this rollin on 20's that could post pics and he can judge?

I thought most/all TSW wheels were available in +30 offset. If so, that should clear the oem Brembos just fine.

There's an old 20" wheel thread around here somewhere, but I can't remember the name of it...

EDIT: Found it... https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/tl-dub-club-584338/

I wouldn't go with 20's, and I do not think even the +30's will fit from my understanding when I spoke to them.

But that was 2 years ago almost.

I would not go more than a 19" rim personally but I have found a sweet spot with 18's so I am staying with those. A lot more options to play around with.

^^^ I'm still sportin my type s wheels and looking for a set of 18x9 concave style in gun metal but can't find anything...last resort is to through 25mm spacers all around with my stock wheels.
