dont waste your money if your not gonna race. If your just looking to go low for looks and street handling, the HT-spec's will do you just fine

I am also looking at coilovers - I think I have narrowed it down to either HT Type 2 or BC Racing BR's. The dampers on the BC's are rebuildable but the HT's are not.
Is damper failure a big issue with coilovers ??
Also, am I going to have to take out the back seat every time to make adjustments ??
Any info & opinions much appreciated. Thanks

Nice, ya i dont plan on tracking my car so i probably with go with the ht spec 2's..these do help with handling as well rite? because i dont really wanna just spend 600 just for all looks cuz if thats the case might as well spend the extra few hundred and get the megans or bcs i suppose?

imma just leave this here....my bc racing coils are a 20/18k spring rate, and they are more comfortable then my megans were straight out of the box...i think thats saying something reallllly good about BC. why NOT pay a tiny bit extra for the better performance if you also get better comfort. build quality is top notch.

Holy fuck! That is a ridiculous spring rate man! Hell our race STi only had 16k springs in the front. lol What is the ride like and what to you have the dampers set to? Gotta love BC though, anything you want you can pretty much get from them.

heh, looks like ill be gettin bcs then..Do you guys reccomend ordering them off the website www.bcracingsuperstore.com/ or heeltoe? I think theres no shipping costs included if their ordered from the website itself

i agree with this comment. i have function and form type1's before the ht specs were released (they are the same). You can ride low and its very comfy for the price. Ive never trusted megan because of bad reviews from when i used to be on the honda forums. BC is definitly better for performance and being rebuildable, but i think the HT-specs are a better deal.

if you're not tracking and you just want to lower the car for looks and better handling performance than you should save yourself $400 and get the ht-spec type 1's.
type 2's are nice because they have the dampening feature, but you said you aren't tracking so this feature wouldn't really be needed. i don't see myself changing the dampening settings every other week i drive my car, i set it to one thing and leave it forever.
i've had my type 1's on the car for a month now and love em. yeah they aren't dampening adjustable but the ride comfort is still good. handling wise there is a big significant increase when turning.
if you got a $1000 to spend i say you should;
ht-spec type 1s (regular springs) - $600
24mm progress rear sway bar - $160
rear camber kit (ingalls or w/e) - $150
total for all that comes out to be <~$1000. you will have a significant increase in handling, take corners at speeds that you never could on the stock sway bar and suspension, and since you have the camber kit you won't have to worry about your rear tires wearing out un-evenly
if you get the bc racing for $1000, that price still doesn't include a rear camber kit which is recommended if you plan on lowering your car at all. a camber kit for the rear runs for about $150. thats ~$1150 and all you got is coils. if you want to be able to take sharp corner turns with confidence add a rear sway bar. that's another ~150 ish so thats about ~$1300 spent.
oh i forgot to mention, you should get a alignment ASAP after you drop the car. so that alone is a little less than ~$100 also. or you can get a 1, 2, 3 year, or lifetime unlimited from some shop, but that will cost anywhere from ~$130-$200.
so if you did decide to go the BC racing route and wanted a rear camber kit, alignment, and progress rear sway bar you're looking at about ~$1500. if you get the ht-spec type 1's instead you can get everything mentioned for about ~$1000 including alignment.
it's up to you man. i'd rather get more for my money than pay extra for a feature that really isn't that important to a normal everyday daily driver (dampening feature).
just some things you should consider..... i say go for ht-spec type 1's. they also have the version 2's out now which is supposed to be even better.
