HELP!: Wha' Da Hell Is Going On With My Car???!!!!

Okay, I'm going to try and make this short, but it'll still be kinda long... please read and help me if you can figure this out for me... especially you Mods...

Oct. 2001: got my 19" wheels-used ("Rezax IIs by Work") with Nitto NT-555 235/35/19 about 70% tread.

Nov. 2001: Got my car lowered by Wheel Warehouse in Anaheim Ca. with Neuspeed springs 1.75 front and back (I didn't go with Eibach cause I thought it was too low) They also performed an alignment. Car drove great for a long time, no problem what so ever.

Summer 2002: About 8 or 9 months ago... got a flat so had to get new tires... didn't have the money to get all four so just got two Yokohama AV3-Sport (they went in the front), the other tires were still pretty good anyway. I eventually replaced the Nitto's with New ones... (stayed with Nitto's NT-555, I wanted to eventually go back to ALL Nittos) Car drove fine/great until...

...about 3 weeks ago, I noticed the car would have vibration durning certain speed... so I took the car in to get the tires balanced... found out the "Yokos" in the front were all "chewed up" on the inside!!!! Keep in mind, they were only about 8 months old. So, I figure it was a alignment issue...

...a few days later, I took the car to the Acura dealership, and they couldn't align it, because they weren't set up for 19" wheels... so last week... I took it to a shop that did... When I picked up my car... the guy told me that the alignment, actually weren't off very much... in fact... the back didn't even require any work. I'm thinking the vibration was coming from the "chewed up "Yokos" in the back. So, I went ahead, and ordered two new Nitto's to replace the "Yokos."

Today, I got my new Nittos mounted, and guess what? The damn car still vibrates!!! I don't have a camber kit, nor do I have coil overs... What do you guys think it is??? Please help!!

The worst aligned front end would not necessarily generate the type of vibration you are describing...so we'll just rule out alignment as your problem. Next thing is to look at your drivetrain. Check your suspension components for anything loose such as ball joints or tie rod ends. Also check your front wheel bearings to ensure they aren't blown out. Finally, check your CV Joints on your driveaxles. Worn joints could also be your problem (check your CV Boots...if they are ripped or busted you probably lost some much needed lube.) Good luck.

Does your vibration start at a specific speed, then disappear after you accelerate to a higher speed? If so, what are those speeds?
Drivetrain in general (see my post).

if steering wheel vibrates accelerating 40-60mph and disappears at higher speeds, check front wheels to see if they are bent inside lip. rotate rears to front to isolate problem by wheel or suspension.

if it vibrates constantly at any idle, check engine mounts for cracks.

if it shakes while decelerating, check front rotors to see if they are warped.

if it steering wheel feels jerky, check axle, suspension, and balance tires.

hope that helps.

poor alignment issues do not cause vibration, it only shortens tread life of tires and determines which direction vehicle will steer.

Poor alignment does cause vibration due to wear on tires. It usually will occur at higher speeds ie 60+. Have them torque the vehicle by hand while it is still in the air. Most shops just use an impact to gun the lug nuts on.

Yeah.... I'm thinking around 25mph to about 40mph (?), usually in 2nd gear... when I'm slowing down there's no vibration around the same speed... (this is beginning to sound BAD )
