help please
i have an 06 tl 6 speed i want to buy some foose speedsters in 20 by 8.5 does anyone see a problem with this and does anyone know what offset i need? also is going 20 by 9.5 in the rear to big? thanks guys.
I have the foose speedsters in 20x8.5 all around on my 04. First, I believe there is something you will have to change on the TPMS(tire pressure monitoring system). I am not sure on this, as the 04 did not come with the TPMS, and I didn't have to worry about it. Hopefully someone else can help you there.
This is my setup
20x8.5 all around
245/35/20 tires/toyo proxes 4
+45 offset
OEM suspension
If I have a full car load of people(4 adults) in my car, it rubs in the rear going over large dips. That is the ONLY time it rubs. When I only have myself or two people in the car, I have no problems at all. Also, if you go with the setup I have, it will throw your speedometer off. This hasn't caused a problem for me, just an FYI.
As far as putting 9.5's back there, I don't know?? I would never do it on mine seeing as I rub with an 8.5 inch rim, and a 245 tire in said situations. Lastly, putting these rims on your car will take a toll on your acceleration.
I have enjoyed them very much so, and love the look. But, I think its important you know the good, along with the bad on this type of setup.
Best of luck to ya
