Question Help with picking tires (yes i know another thread on this)

ok here are my driving habits in a nutshell:

i drive 40K+ miles for work every year.
never in the snow or ice
mostly highway miles
dont race or drive excessively fast

i would like a comfortable riding tire that doest wear out in a few months and not the highest price tire on the market

ive been driving on BFG super sports for a while and they are ok but i would like to know if there is something better out there that im missing.

thanks for the help...

Have a look at the Kumho Ecsta ASX (ASX for All-Season Xtreme) . I had these and they performed really well and on top of it all you can rotate them as they aren't directional.

I did some search and IMO Goodyear F1 All season , suppose to be pretty good. But you can go with some falkens or Nittos also. I would stayed away from Nankang , Wu-tang tires craps.

Many, many opinions on tires. One day a customer will come in and ask for brand X as they are the best tires they have ever owned, and the next day someone will ask for any brand except X which they consider terrible.

Let me throw a couple tires your way. I usually recommend the 245/45-17 size, but take a look at the Michelin Exalto A/S. It's only an H rated tire (130MPH), and the 235/45-17 (OE size) is the largest size available. Fantastic all around tire as I have them installed on my daughter's Maxima, but not inexpensive. UHP tires for the TL are a mixed bag as that group has many varieties to pick from ($87 to over $200). I have the Yokohama Advan S.4 245/45-17 on the TL, which I consider a fantastic tire, good ride, no noise, great handling, great tread wear, and the tread is wider than most, except for the Yokohama W4s, that has the widest tread.

Just look at the Tire Rack reviews and you'll be able to get some perspective of the various models.

I would definitely recommend steering clear of the Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S tires. They are fine when new, but once they break-in, they are noisy as hell. My other TL (the wife's - an '05 automatic) has a set and they're coming off this Saturday.. she hates them. They also wear quickly and unevenly.

I went with the Goodyear Eagle GT, hey seemed to be working good for me. They are rated high on traction and quietness. Well of course it's hard to hear the tires over the GReddy EVO2 Exhaust. http://www.goodyeartires.com/goodyea...mance#features
