Exclamation Help with New Tires

Okay so I got just over 20,000 miles on my tires and they are all "bald" (as the tire man said). There are no marks left on my tires just smooth flat rubber. So now I need new ones. I have never gone with anything other than the tires that come on my cars from the dealership however they are crap and pricey (last set cost me $1200). So being that I live in Texas I don't need snow/ice but I do need wet traction. Is there anyone who can recommend a really good tire. I'm not too worried about the price of the tire I just need top of the line in the safe department then wet road traction. Thank you in advance for your help.

I would recomend the Nitto 555. Good performance tire, and good in the rain.

I recommend Goodyear Eagle F1 very agressive tread pattern, Excellent wet handling and quiet in the cabin (plus they are Goodyears and are enginereed and built in Germany)

I have never bought a tire because of the price! You will have them a long time and quality, ride, safe great handling is the most important thing. DON'T go budget to decide. Save a little longer and buy Quality tires! Its NOT much more. You get what you pay for. GO TO Tirerack.com and read the reviews and ALL info on specs, prices, etc. Good Luck!

You probably should not get the "summer" tires if there is often rain.
For all-season tires, other members here also like the Toyo Proxes and the Michelin Pilot A/S; some members have said that the Pirello P/Zero Neros start to get loud after 15,000 miles or so, but are good tires otherwise.
Check out the Tire Rack site posted by cbbutlercm, then do a search here for the tires you are considering to make sure 3G TL owners like them. Tire Rack uses rear-wheel drive cars for its testing, while our TLs are front-wheel drive. G/L!

I agree with desper, and so does Car and Driver: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ad-page13.html

The Goodyear F1 GS-D3s have excellent wet traction and are otherwise great overall.

Also check out the other tires in the catergory.

I also recommend the Bridgestone Potenza RE960s. I'll be getting some of these this summer most likely.

I dunno... ratings seem pretty positive for the General Exclaims:

I saw them today on another TL and they look pretty sharp on the 17" OEM rims.

I should have these on my car by end of next week. I've read nothing but good things about them in Tirerack.com and consumer reports.

I am also in the market for tires as I got a bulge in a sidewall and they are getting old anyways. Running on Falken's I believe. I got them for under $400 shipped a couple years ago on sale. Any tire websites or deals out there currently or any good pricing on tires?
