Help missing strut pieces
Help missing strut pieces
Ok so I picked up a used 05 TL 6speed. It came with some sort of coilover setup. I picked up some H&R sports and Koni Yellow adjustables. I'm trying to figure out what normal pieces that would be reused I'll be missing. I ordered the bump stop and boots for all 4. I'm assuming that the coilovers reused the front lower strut mounts. I have no idea if the coilovers used the factory top mounts or not. So assuming that I have to buy the top mounts is there anything else that would normally be reused? Does the top mounts come with the top spring cushion? My goal is to not tear apart the coilovers and have a strut setup completely ready to bolt in.
In this thread (https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/torque-spec-shock-assembly-3g-garage-d-091-a-633039/) there are parts diagrams and Service Manual scans for front and rear shock/spring assemblies.
To make your H&R/Koni set-up "ready to drop in" you'll need pretty much the whole top hat assembly, dust cover and bump stops.
Double check exactly which washers and perch assemblies are on the Koni's and you (obviously?) won't need those.
Also, I am pretty certain you are correct that you won't need any lower mounting assmblies (99% sure), BUT you may want to replace the bolts if it's recommended in the Service Manual.

Sorry, no.
You can look up part numbers here though - prices listed are wholesale. You might be able to make a deal with your local dealer OR the wholesale plus shipping might be less than dealer prices.

After you put in your car info, you want FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER and REAR SHOCK ABSORBER from the assemblies list.
