Help? Can i run 225/40ZR19's?

I'm going to be getting some 19x7.5 rims for my TLS. I'm thinking of going with 225/40ZR19 tires. I won't be lowering my car, because I already have a bodykit. Have anyone run with these tires before? If not, for the people that is running 235/35/ZR19's....do you believe 40series tires is okay? Please help. Thanks.

You'll be increasing overall tire height by .6" and your speedo will be off by 2%. Acceleration will suffer but you'll get better highway gas mileage. Most importantly be ready to shell out some serious $$$'s. That size ain't all that popular so choices will be very limited.
Good luck.

So i won't rub on turns and bumps right?? You are right...only a few places offer 225/40ZR19's...and they all need to be special order.

Whoa whoa...slow down tiger. :p

It's not necessarily the size of tires that will dictate whether or not you will rub. More important is the offset of your wheels. Regardless of tire size, a wheel with a low offset will prove disasterous. Do you know the offset of the wheels you plan on purchasing?

I'm getting the Racing Harts C2's 3pc 19x7.5. If i'm right, is 42. There's only one size with that.

3-pc racing hart wheels can be ordered in a range of offsets...definitely bigger than 42! the 1-pc rh evo wheels are the ones that only come in one standard offset.

I would go with 19x8 +50. Then you can go with 235/35 19s. It will not rub, even if you are dropped. I have C2s as well, but in 18s. If you are stuck on 7.5 wide rims, get +47 or +48 offset.

Keep in mind if you don't drop the car, it's gonna look like a 4x4. You really need to drop it a little. I say go with H&R OE springs if you're worried about it being too low.

i don't think it'd be a problem, i'm running 235/35/19 on 8.5 width, i was thinking on moving to 245 for the same reason of comfort, if your not going to drop the car, you'll have so much of a gap it's not going to be a problem...

you are running 19x8.5?? wow..that's big. I was thinking of going with 19x8, but i'm affraid is too big for the front. That's what some people are saying. Offset is +50.
