all depends on how low you are...if you go with +35 you can run 235 40 or 225 40 tires...if you go with +20 go with 225 40 tires
+20 pros more poke and look more aggressive..cons need fenders rolled
+35 with 225 40 pros..no fenders rolled needed
+35 with 235 40 cons..need fenders rolled

because i'm pretty handy, it's not a big deal to me, rolling fenders.

plus, like i said, my tire did some of it for me. so, i really didnt have a choice....and i continued rolling it by hand

I wnt to my body shop yesterday and he said no way in hell will they roll my fenders, I had some pretty bad rust fixed up in the rears too so new metal was welded in, he said it could get messy lol

^so, when we say rolling fenders, we really mean rolling a tiny little lip.

check to see if you still have that lip.. the lip is what cuts up tires when the car squats and accelerates

the rear or front? the fronts weren't touched so they'd be factory but was looking at the rears yesterday and they look/feel to be half rolled.
don't want to hijack here , but whats the biggest tire I could run with 18x9 +30 without rolling assuming I lower the car too

^it depends on how low you go.

because you could be rockin' Visual Echos drop without rubbing.

its all case by case basis. that's why its so hard to recommend or teach some one this. and if you check out Visual echo's BC racing coil thread, he went by my advice, but also did changed things up a bit to suit him

the TL comes with already rolled half-fenders. you'll see the lip go from flat to sticking out, both in front and rear.

Man some of these responses are absolutely classic lmfao!! Some folks really like to sound like they know what they are talking about when they actually have no clue (keep in mind their car is 110% stock oooh minus their switchbacks and plasty dip grilles), while others give great advice. Good luck on your new wheel setup lol, I love the internet lol...
The reason why I prefer the 255/40 over the 255/35 is because it's .7" taller, taking up .35" wheel gap, and therefore making the car look lowered more than it is. It's also a softer sidewall, making the car ride better than the shorter sidewall tires.
Now, if you want to have the real beef, the 265/35 is the tire to have, I just ordered them, and they'll be here Friday. Look for pix this Saturday or Sunday. With the wheel size I have, the front needs NO rolling with the 265, and will not rub. However, the very top and front edge of the rear quarter will need a slight roll. This is no problem at all, easy cheese.
I fully believe that a 275/35 will fit the car (without crazy camber), but it'd have to be on a perfect wheel, something like 18 x 9.5 +48, not exactly sure. And not ANY 275, it'd have to be a narrow-running 275.
Stay tuned for more beef

When people "roll the fenders" on the TL, what they're actually rolling is the top and front edge of the rear quarter, the fronts don't ever need a roll that I know of. And if you look, Acura has rolled the rest by themselves, not sure why they didn't just finish the job and do the top/front edge of the rear quarter, but for whatever reason, they didn't...so we have to. This is EASY compared to many cars, it only takes a slight roll to carry the beef. Or you could just get the 18 x 9.5 +40 and 255 and not have to roll at all.
what about a 18x9.5 +34. could you still have room for a 255/40

If you have to roll the front at all, it's only this little tip where the front bumper meets the fender, but it should be RARE that you have to do this, only those seeking crazy offsets will need to do it.

The rear is a bit more, but still just the top, and front edge, and not even all the way down, about half way down.

I'm going to roll mine this weekend, I'll take some before and afters.

The lower you go the easier it is to fit these wider tires/lower offsets because of the natural negative camber effect. And of course, you can always get camber kits front and rear to help fit things. -2.5° is pretty easy, and really helps fitment.
