Has anyone tried OEM replica wheels? Any from Hubcap Haven?

I've seen threads with Type S replicas, but I was wondering if anyone has tried the 04-06 TL replica wheels before. All the ones on eBay don't have that ledge for the TPMS sensor, and even though the seller (Tobacco Road Auto) says they'll still work, it bothers me. It just doesn't look right.

Then I found these. Has anyone tried these or found any OEM replicas that have the TPMS ledge?

Can't speak for hubcap haven, but from my experience replica wheels are actually more resistant to bending and they tend to be a lot cheaper than buying the real deal. No one can tell the difference. As for the 2004/5 versus 2006 wheel, I'd still insist on getting the '06 wheels with the larger valve stem area if you have an '06. Whomever you buy from, don't let them bullshit you how the '04/5 wheel will do the trick.

You might want to try http://www.wheelership.com/modules/w...77&w_year=2006.
I've had good luck with their wheels.

The '04/'05 wheels WILL fit the TPMS sensor. The previous owner had one of my stock 5 spokes replaced at a dealership and for whatever reason, they gave her an '04/'05 wheel when the car was an '06.

I wonder if replicas are significantly heavier. Thanks for the link. They don't carry new wheels with the TPMS ledge though. I'm afraid of remanufactured wheels because who knows what the wheel's condition was before the repair, and there are so many articles warning against their use due to safety concerns.

How is the finish on the replica wheel? Does it last? Sometimes I wonder if I should just have my stock rims refinished locally, but it costs about the same to get these replicas.

Funny, they show '06 wheels on that link. As for the finish, it's just as good as the originals. I've had issues with re-manufactured wheels myself. They seem to bend just as easily as the OEM's. I'm yet to have bent wheel with the replicas though, FWIW. I can't say whether they're heavier or not.

That was probably because the stealership only had '04/5 wheels in stock.

or they didnt know the difference. most people think 04-06 wheels are all the same.

to the OP, the tpms cutout on the 06 wheels are simply for weight distribution. i think it helps when balancing the wheel and will require less weights to make up for the weight of the tpms sensor. the cutout does not affect how the sensor mounts whatsoever

The 06 wheels they have listed are remanufactured. Sometimes I wonder if the warnings against remanufactured wheels are justified. It's true you don't know the wheel's history, but can a repaired wheel fail catastrophically? I'm so tempted to buy a set of these and have them redrilled.

Also, the factory wheels that were made for TPMS sensors have a raised boss on the opposite side to counteract the weight of the sensor to keep the wheel perfectly balanced.
