whats up Jay!?
I think it would help you if you knew what products there are for your car.

head to Shop Online | Excelerate Performance to look at lowering products.
you'll find springs and coilovers.
Now, I dont know what you mean by "unlike coilovers" so, I cannot comment on that...
but my coilovers are BETTER than stock shocks.

then you would have to buy MORE products to camber the car.
Hope this helps

I did a comparison between Tein Basis and had Form n Function Type 2 on full stiff and the FnFs were FAR superior.

When my Teins blow, FnF here I come!

If you're looking for something other then coilovers, but still want some kind of a drop then you could get a set of Koni yellows with some Eibach (which are a little softer) or H&R lowering springs.

The lowering springs will get you a little over an inch if you go Eibach, and just under an inch and a half if you chose the H&Rs. You can find them below:

Eibach: 4044.140 - Eibach Pro Kit Springs - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist
H&R: 50104 - H&R Springs - Sport Springs - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist

If you wanted to get some camber you'd need a set of arms like these: http://hoa.excelerateperformance.com.../i-397045.aspx

If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM! Good luck & happy modding!

I just bought a 2007 Acura TL Type S a month ago and I am thinking of doing a suspension upgrade. I want to go with the koni yellows and some lowering springs as well. I want a drop similar to the A Spec suspension for our vehicles. Which lowering springs would be close to that drop height? Also, other than the koni yellow shocks and the lowering springs, what else would I need? Do I re use the same top hats? Any recommendations are welcome.

Thank you

Well congrats on the recent purchase!

I'm not exactly sure how much lower the a-spec setup sits then the standard, but it's somewhere around a half inch. The a-spec suspension wasn't really made with drop in mind, but they do offer you a harder ride and better cornering. So, if you chose the Eibachs w/ Konis you'd get a little more of a drop then the a-spec kit, and you will definitely notice a performance increase over your current setup.

You can re-use top hats if they're in good shape, but while you have everything off it's certainly not a bad time to replace them. You shouldn't need anything else for the install unless you notice some bushings that look like they could use replacing while you're in there.

Shoot me a PM if you want a quote on something!

Hey Justin... What coil overs are you on?

I had the KW V1's on my BMW E46 M3 and was VERY happy with them. I now live in the midwest and the roads aren't near as good as they were down south, so not sure if I'd feel the same way, but curious what you have. I see KW and Tein are both popular options.
I'd love a "little bit lower than stock", more stiff in corners, and still very compliant over the rough roads.. that's what I'm looking for anyways.

But, to your point, I felt the same way about the KW's in my M3... I thought they felt far superior to the OEM BMW shocks in every way, looked better, and cornered like it was on rails!
