Fitment questions

So, i think i have finally narrowed down my wheel search... brand and type will be kept secret... butttt... i wanna make sure i WONT rub & which tires i should use

the front wheel will be 19 x 8.5 +38 offset. Will clear brembos no problem. 2 other members have these wheels already.

the rear wheel will be 19 x 9.5.. with 2 choices in offset.. +38 or +45... which one should i get ??

Also, what tire sizes are recommended for the whole set up? 245/35/19 ? will that cover the rear tires also ??

Please let me know so i can place my order asap! lol

yeah man...

you should be fine with 245/35 all around... you can do 245/35 Front and 255/30 or 265/30 Rear... with no real issues...

what other offsets are available with your nameless wheels...???? 'cause you could get nuch more aggressive with those offsets... there is alot of space on our cars... I've been doing some real would test fitting lately... let me know if you need help with fender rolling.... I would assume you would like the wheels to sit real flush with the fenders???

I was running 245/35/20... FYI

yea guys, ive been bouncing around from idea to idea for like 3 months. last car, i picked my rims in like 3 day.... this time im doing shit RIGHT lol.. everybody's telling me staggered is stupid....

i will say that im selling my pro-kit, and going for a tein route again. so i expect to lower this car an honest 1.6/1.7 (little higher than blackura, but type s already has a lil more aggressive stance)

i do NOT want to rub (obviously) and i dont think i want to roll my fenders either... scares me on a brand new car.... btw. i NEVER have more then myself +1 in the car...

choices i had originally looked into

Axis Hiro Graphite (staggered)
RonJon Legend Liquid Graphite
RonJon Insprye Brilliant Silver
MRR GT1 (19 or 20") staggered

so you guys are saying 245/35 in the front... and the rear 255/35 ?

i know JJaber's running x 9.5 all around w/o rubbing

If you can wait, we got the new Devotion Type III, that will primise to be the hottest wheel on any acura, true 3 piece wheel with PERFECT TL fitment, especially for the Type S. 19" x 8.5" or 20" x 8.5" or both diameters on the same car.

JJaber is running 9" wheel all around... with a forties (40's) offset...

If you're gonna run a staggered set-up... no matter what the (off the shelf) wheel company's offset... you are going to have to roll your fenders... or stretch some 235 on that 9.5" wheel with the 45 offset...

255/30/19....

Go with the 19x9.5 +45 to avoid rubbing, especially when your dropped. What color SC3000's? .

As far as tires go, the front 245 will be nice and square, no stretch. For the rears your looking at a 275/30.

you bastard! how the hell did u guess lol

yea thats what im looking at. some places today told 235/35/19 in the front and 265/30/19 in the back... i dont like having two different profiles though... i feel that its not a good 'even' balance

(2) 19 x 9.5 +45

what tire sizes should i get ? no rubbing and no rolling...

No stranger to the wheels myself:

The profile is really an aspect ratio sooo...I would go with a 235/35 front and 275/30 rear, this way at least the rear won't be smaller than the fronts. From my experience, the 245/40 front looks a tiny bit taller than my rear 275/35. If I was to re do it again I'd go 285/35 in the rear.

black...i'm sure you'll represent the WDP's well. I'm holding my pic postings until the completion also. I've been working diligently on mine for the past couple months. since it snows late season here I'll probably be dropping my pics a lil later. It's going to be nice to see how your work in progress is going.

I have the 265/30/19's with I believe a 45mm offset on the rear of mine. No rubbing issues and I personally...and everyone that has ever said anything about the stance think it looks sick. However Im now sure how low you can go with it without rubbing, and I will continue to not know since the damn UPS guy wont leave my Teins without someone to sign for them!

IMHO, if you're gonna run staggerd rims, get wider section tires for the rear - 255 at least, 265 if you can.

I personally have no problem with a staggered setup, FWD or not, it's a great look.

As far as the profile, I am sure you know, it's not the number (30, 35, etc) but the actual sidewall height (i.e. the ratio).

So if you go 19's @ 235/35 and 265/30, they give a similar sidewall height (~3.23" v ~3.12"). I doubt that 1/10" will even be noticable (overall diamater diff is less than 1/4") - It'll be fine.

yea i spent like an hour on 1010tires.com like 2 weeks ago and learned about the ratio and sidewall etc,etc..... 235/35 & 265/30 were very close in sidewalls... my main concern though is rubbing. i dont want to roll my fenders just yet... the car is too new.... so i was hoping i could get away with it if i got the +45 offset for the rears and +38 for the front....

winters knocking on my door.. so i will be holding off for atleast 3 months on the final decision

275 is way too big for the TL. I'm running 245/30/20-255/30/20. +40 in the rear +32 front (counting spacers). I had to roll the fenders on the rear and with a 245 tire on the front I can't go too low. There is a guy running 245 on a 9.5.https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166191 It looks ok. I would say 235 front 255 or 245 rear.

i loved the way your seva's looked and i am most likely going for a similar staggered stance (on 19's though)... orrrr....

there is the other possiblity i am weighing out.. i dont know how much i like the idea, but its no stupider then staggered. i would be running 19 in the front, 20 in the rear of a different rim.. i just really dont want to have to roll my fenders...

with a 255 or higher tire, i basically dont have much of a choice, eh?

If you are going with a 45mm offset for your rear 19x9.5, I would either go with 255/30/19 or 265/30/19 tires. If you were going with the 38mm offset, then I would go with 245/35/19 for the back to prevent any rubbing issues.

Of course the 245/40 is going to look taller than 275/35. 245 is how wide the tire is, 40 is how tall. So if you use 285/30 in the rear your front will still look taller.

^The height is an aspect ratio. Your going to tell me a 275/35 is going to be the same height as 285/35 and that a 245/40 is going to be taller than 285/35?

Yes, the side wall of the tire is the same. Those numbers are mm. So the tire is 275mm wide and 35mm tall. You can see it on your link. The 65 is way taller than the 55.

This from Tire Rack
Sidewall Aspect Ratio
Typically following the three digits identifying the tire's Section Width in millimeters is a two-digit number that identifies the tire's profile or aspect ratio.

P225/50R16 91S

The 50 indicates that this tire size's sidewall height (from rim to tread) is 50% of its section width. The measurement is the tire's section height, and also referred to as the tire's series, profile or aspect ratio. The higher the number, the taller the sidewall; the lower the number, the lower the sidewall. We know that this tire size's section width is 225mm and that its section height is 50% of 225mm. By converting the 225mm to inches (225 / 25.4 = 8.86") and multiplying it by 50% (.50) we confirm that this tire size results in a tire section height of 4.43". If this tire were a P225/70R16 size, our calculation would confirm that the size would result in a section height of 6.20", approximately a 1.8-inch taller sidewall.

Actually, a 275/35 will be shorter than a 285/35. The 35 is a ratio, as in percent...35% of the width. Thirty-five percent of 275 is 96 and 35% of 285 is 100; therefore, the 285/35 will have a sidewall that is 4mm taller than the 275/35.

245/40 = 98mm sidewall

EDIT: Seems Michael beat me to it...I should start typing a little faster...
