Finally curb rash fixed!!

Hey everyone,

just wanted to share with you some before and after pics of my type S wheels. Got slight curb rash on one of them which bugged the crap out me so I had to fix it. Using the methods posted on this site somewhere I went at it.

Cost = $30
Time = 4-5hours (majority was waiting to dry)

It isn't the greatest job but I'm happy with it.
I was under a time constraint as I had to do other stuff in between drying and waiting times so wasn't able to be a perfectionist. However it came out good.
You can still see it up close and if you knew it was there (also the pictures still show some dust left from sanding). Also the paint wasn't an exact match but close enough.
For $30 and 4-5 hours out of my day, I can't complain.
Other than that take a look for yourselves.

Nice work. I think with a little more time on your side you could have done a 100% perfect repair.

Can you link where the fix is please?

nah that looks like a spray paint.

The AM paint dries a lot darker than the rim, but looks good while wet!

I've used the Anthricite touch-up paint on my Type S wheels. It works really well. Obviously, the curb rash is still there, but it isn't as noticable because of the color match.

I don't think the wheels have paint codes. In fact, I think the TL is the only honda/acura that doesn't have a paint code for the wheel.

edit: did a search and at least confirmed what I said.

Just follow the instructions in the link CarrieLynn provided. I followed those exact steps. However for the colour I used a touch up pen by duplicolour.

Nice work. I've always been tempted to fix the curbs on my stock wheels, but since I don't use them, I always find something else to do. Maybe one day.

check just about every ad in the black market...it's amazing, at least one wheel is messed up.

**yes if you search posts you'll see i've been on the searching side of finding a curb rash fix, but it was the one and only time my wife drove my car.

There are many variables. For one, I personally think the stock tires are too narrow and have a sidewall that is not tall enough to offer any protection against curb rash.

I came from a Mustang to this so the size difference is something else to get newly associated with.
