Keep in mind we have participants from the 4G section too. And possibly the 2G CL/TL also. We have hit the mark. Please make sure you get our deposits in before the end of the month so I can submit the stocking order.

Can you compare the amount of lowering achievable to that of Teins? Might be interested if these can get me lower than my current Tein Basics.

Question: Is it advisable to get a camber kit with this, or do the existing camber features on the coilover do the trick? I don't really plan on slamming it down that low.

Yeah I am debating a camber kit also. I was going to probably do about 1.75 - 2 inch drop, and I can say FIRMLY that I will NOT drop it anymore than 2 inches. If negative camber isn't going to be horrible I may save myself some money and not buy one for the rear. Comments, suggestions?

These will go higher and lower than the TEIN coilovers due to the fully threaded shock body.

Wait - are you saying that if I don't lower it much, I should get a camber kit but if I slam it down, I don't need one? That seems counterintuitive to me.

No, I'm saying when u lower 2" or less you shouldn't need a chambering kit, anything more than 2" you will need a kit. That is if you don't want to buy tires all the time. Either way get a alinement and see how far out you are and go from there.

Josh, many coilover systems have perches that seize on the threaded body, do ISC coils prevent seizing? And how difficult is it to rotate the perch when the spring is compressed? IOW, will it be difficult to raise the car?

Definitely a good question. I used to work at a Import Performance shop and saw a handful of perches replaced due to being seized and cracking/breaking.

I think the answer is going to be like that of most other manufacturers: Every coilover system has the capability to seize, depending on your environment. West coasters have less of a chance of seizing due to the lack of salt seen on the roads. East coasters see much more inclement weather, accelerating the possibility of seizing.

I guess my question was more, what are the threaded bodies coated with? And I know that the new Tein Basis coilovers have adapted a new system in which it is much easier to raise the car. I always had trouble raising the car to a certain level as the spring compression prevented me from doing so. I'd like the comfort of raising my car without all of my strength for the winter, and the ability to lower (much easier than raising, of course) during the summer and spring.

The threaded portion of the shock body is anodized and then sprayed with a coating to prevent salt corrosion. So there are some measures in place to prevent the perches from seizing. However, the best way to prevent the perches from seizing is to move them up and down twice a year, once before winter and once after winter.

And the ride height isn't adjusted by lowering or raising the coil spring, like the TEIN coilovers. It is done by lowering or raising the bottom part of the suspension. You pre-load the spring and then make all ride height adjustments by spinning the lower shock housing. Look at the picture below:

Basically by threading the bottom portion down you are extending the height of the shock body, thus raising the car. By threading the bottom portion in you are contracting the shock body, thus lowering the car.

so to adjust height you spin the bottom perch up and use the top perch to spin the shock down? and to raise spin the bottom one up and use the top perch to spin the whole body up then lock it down with the bottom perch?

Haha, Josh has a knack for coming out with delayed products, but quality engineered ones! I remember a lot of people were smacking their heads when the XLR8 J-pipe came out so late, same with the exhaust and now the suspension!

This is definitely one item I am going to bite the bullet on, even though I have Tein Basics right now, and they are nothing but superb.
