End Links

06 MT

Some advice:

Thinking about getting Progress Rear Sway Bar. Should I purchase end links to try to avoid ripping the sway bar mounts.

I am on the stock suspension for now.

If so are moogs the way to go?

Thanks

you will most likely have to get the new endlinks, stock ones are so poorly designed and a lot of people destroy them trying to take them off. I know I did.

Moog isn't the best, I replaced my stock ones with moog ones when I did my RSB, and they lasted a year. I was lowered though. And I just got another set and replaced them. They are 27$ Canadian per side, so in US they are even cheaper I am guessing. To me it wasn't that big of a deal to replace them again

IMHO, stronger end-links will make it more likely that you rip the sway bar mount. Stress goes to the weakest component. If you beef up this, that and the other, but leave the mount the same it gets more stress there, not less.

That said, I don't think it's the end-links that ?are/were? the issue. Most (not all, but most) of the reports of broken mounting brackets were the Comptech bar with upgraded bushings.

My personal opinion is the bushings were too stiff and they transferred torque to the mounting point welds, which eventually broke from stress fractures. My guess means that if you stick with the Progress supplied bushings, you'll be less likely to have an issue.

However, I will also tell you that I bought a set of Moog links for my car and decided not to install them just because of this (potential) issue.

ok thanks guys I will just go with the provided materials and go from there. Worst case scenario just weld it back in place :!

I had the same sway on an integra with koni shocks, neuspeed springs and it still ripped the mount!
