Does it take time for the TPMS to "settle in" for new tires?
I had 4 new Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS installed on Tuesday for my 08 TL-S. They are nitrogen inflated and the TPMS stems were replaced at that time. The tech confirmed that the proper PSI should be 35F/32R.
The TPMS display is showing different values for each tire that's not really close to 35/32. They've been in the range of 37-40 on the front and 38-42 on the rear. I've driven about 300 miles since then and those values haven't really dropped. This is my first TPMS vehicle -- is there some sort of break-in period for either the new stems or the tires? Or should I manually drop them to the proper range? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

check the psi of the tires with a tire gauge.
PHYSICALLY check, and make certain you're at proper levels.
with that being said, it does take time for the tpms to "recalibrate" but shouldnt take more than a drive.
if your tires are at proper levels via tire gauge,I would take it back to the shop and ask them to replace the tpms sensors in the tires.

oh and another thing, you should be checking the tire values with a tire gauge at cold temperature.
if you've been driving, the temperatures will rise.

Your readings should "settle in" with new tires in a few minutes.
But I also think your issue is temperature. It is quite possible that the pressures were set correctly then driving caused the temp to rise, which causes the psi to rise.
Plus the extra-warm weather the past few days means even "cold" pressures are higher than a week or so ago.
My advice is to get yourself a decent tire guage and see how it matches up to your TPMS Sensors. For instance your sensors might read 1 psi higher or 1 psi lower. Use your guage to set to your deisred pressure (cold), then monitor via the MID, accounting for the difference between TPMS and your guage.
