Do you think we can get our rims polished?

I was looking at my car today and i think the rims would look bad ass if they were machined high polished so they kinda look like chrome. Anyone ever done this? Any drawback to this?

All ya gotta do is sand down the clear coat with fine (wet) sand paper...It will remove the clearcoat, then polish the metal, they will gleem like this:

That's Polished aluminum. There's no clear coat on that rim. The problem with metal polishes that are out on the market is that the clear coat is covering the metal, so that metal polish is worthless unless you sand down the clear coat. It's there to protect the rim..

Look for a wheel repair shop...try to find a reputable place.. They should be able to polish the rims for u too.. I plan on having my CLS wheels sanded down and re-clearcoated to take off all the surface scratches and stuff..

I forgot the name of the place, I'll ask my buddy and get back to you. It's somewhere in Queens/LI near Kennedy airport.

Not sure about the polishing, but I recently had a set of wheels from my Saab 9-3 sandblasted and re-coated for $375 for the set. They look like new.

Shoofin if your sure its going to SHINE like dat i'm going to get it done i'll talk to a friend who's in my car club who owns a rim shop and see if he can do it and how much it'll run chances are he'll give me a discounted price but i'll see what the mainstream price would run. I never really thought about this till i looked at this tread.
