Do I have the right struts..?
Ok, so I'm replacing the struts on my 2007 Acura TL (Base Navigation) and when I finally get the cartridge out and remove the boot, I see this (hopefully there is a picture below).
The new cartridge looks correct, except that it's missing that welded on washer and the rubber bumper looking thing (sorry, struggling for the right terms here).
Do I have the wrong replacement cartridges? Or, am I missing some parts I needed to get? Or, is that bumper thing not actually needed? Or, something else?
Any insight from someone who has done this before, or just knows the right answer, will be greatly appreciated. Kind of at a standstill until I get this figured out...

That washer is not welded on, take a hammer and tap on it to remove it, and then transfer it and the bump stop over to the new shock.

Hopefully this post will now serve to prevent someone else from making the same dumb mistake.

no, unfortunately, that thread was about lowering a car using either oranges or yellows.
Oranges probably provide better ride than fully working stock shocks.
But...then again....most people aren't swapping out perfectly good stock shocks. So the ride difference noted may just be due to going from blown OEM's to brand new Konis...which isn't a fair comparison.

With about 60 miles and an hour and a half on the car since installing the Koni STR.T (Orange), I can now report that it rides quite well.
I did use the stock springs, wasn't anything wrong with them. I was also replacing the stock cartridges which had 120,000 miles on them, so as someone pointed out, it was definitely going to ride better no matter what. However, I also bought the car new in 2006, so I do have a valid point of reference. I would say the overall ride is fairly equal to how it rode when brand new (equal or just a tiny bit better). Additionally, based on the tiny sample size of exactly two "spirited" turns, the car does seem to handle better than it did even when new. It felt much more "planted", but to be fair these were also not turns I ever drove when the car was new.
In any case, the Koni Oranges really weren't that much more expensive (maybe $100 total) than any number of far inferior options I could have chosen from. I consider it money and time well spent, the upgrade has brought new life into a car I still very much enjoy, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

nice, going to be doing this (Koni orange with stock springs) sometime next year for my 06. It currently has 128k miles and I can definitely feel it needing new shocks.

I was originally set on tein coilovers when it came time for my suspension, but may have to give your setup a try!

In a similar boat myself. Debating between Konis and the existing aspec springs or going coilovers. I'm near 130k on my 05 and I think its almost time.
