Devotions type 3
hey acurazine,
it's been a while since I last signed in, but I just got a set of Devotions type 3 (DT3-F as labeled on RonJon's site) and I was wondering if anyone has these perticular set of wheels. They are 19" and from the website, they look awesome. They are comming tomorrow via Fedex so I can't wait.
But should I was wondering if I should be aware of anything like quality, and how the car responds to the new size wheels (handling, etc..). I'll post pics tomorrow as soon as they come....

I have a set of the originals, the Devotion 3pF's. The two versions aren't 100% identical, but are very close, so experience-wise, we'll probably be in the same boat. I haven't had any quality issues with the wheels; in fact, they've held up for years quite well. Handling will improve slightly, depending on the tire you use. And if/when you decide to sell them, you'll have a hell of a time. Despite everyone saying they love these wheels, no one buys them; not sure what's up with that .
Enjoy the new wheels! They're hot and that finish will look great on your AM.

I think it's because they are $$$... the 19's cost $690 a wheel.... even I was going to just settle for the legends type II, but I thought they look kinda like type s rims except bigger...

I love ronjon's products, from the body kit to the wheels, and I've even rocked a set of inspyres myself. And I'm sure that the devotion type-3's are worth that much since they're 3-piece wheels, but If i'm going to spend $700 per wheel, I am most definitely gonna go with Work or Volk wheels are they are in the same exact price range.
That's why you don't see many people with DT3's.

Funny how people think $700 is a lot. Three-piece wheels are usually more than $1k each; $700 each is a great price. Personally, I couldn't imagine getting a cast wheel (most Works) for the same price, or any other boy racer-ish wheel. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. In all honesty, I prefer the original versions with the forged face because the face is smaller. Since the face of these is cast, the center section and spokes had to be thicker to achieve the same structural integrity as the smaller, thinner forged face.
Anyway, they do look good, and as I said before, that finish will look great on your car. Enjoy them!!
