1> my true duals eliminate the jpipe and exhaust...a brand name jpipe + exhaust is 1700-2000 bucks....
Looking at today's price, you're right (My exhaust was $900 while I got RV-6's J & Test Pipe together for $350 back in 2009). However, I personally don't think you saved any significant amount of money building a custom setup compared to buying the parts from the vendors, which was your original argument.
3> show me 1 person who has dynoed before and after getting an "$1200 exhaust"....RV6 claims 36WHP with Jpipe and Catback....a fully bolted on type S MT makes shy of 295 whp and comes stock with 256....which mean his other mods didnt make power at all ?
I'm not going to dig through any number of dyno threads. Half of them will be ignored by you because they were done after the mod was in place in comparison to what the car made before hand.

RV6 was already over optimistic even in my opinion, but there are plenty of folks who have constantly said that a full exhaust could net 15-20whp at the very most.

PS: 1 thing you dont know is in the cost, I got 6 dyno runs included....which itself are $170....so yeah effective cost for me was 1800-170...do the math
Perhaps include that then. You not disclosing certain details doesn't do your argument any good itself b/c had I known that, then I would have given you some credit initially. But, you didn't, so now you just look like a smart ass.

I'll end the pissing match here b/c it'll just result into another argument from you about why we should go custom with our exhausts and questioning why the rest of us would spend over a $1,000 on ATLP/XLR8/RV6 exhausts. Because some of us can/want to, but then again, it's a beaten horse argument.

Which is why you were making multiple posts bitching about people "bashing" XXR right?

Again, take your own advice & grow up some yourself before you attempt to sound cute in your remarks.

Lol you tend not to read correctly.

You were bashing swoosh about his exhaust's sound and his deal with Rodney and I need to grow up? Lol

Old RV6 j pipe/test pipe yields almost nothing compared to swoosh or richies current Jpipe.

40whp with a full exhaust system.

Ya know twice in this thread members, including me, tried to forget about this but you love commenting. You obviously have issues cause all my responses were justified while your wasn't. Instead you were talking out of your ass. I'm done bro have fun

Don't worry I love you still cause you have the best avatars ever

Where once did I say anything about the gains from older parts? Nowhere as its irrelevant.

My only issue was that what numbers Rodney got do not account for everyone & every part. I've been here over 3 years now & I've seen people dyno & post before about what mods gain what numbers realistically, & in fantasy land.

Are they really justified, or do you believe they justified because they're your comments? I could easily say you were just another whining cry baby about all the XXR haters if I wanted & claim my comments are justified as well.

Talking out my ass? That's cute coming from the guy who said all exhausts are the same metals. Let's not throw stones in glass houses now.

I'm regarding the performance to price that you were basing the exhaust system would cost.

Not really. I wasn't basing my comments directly to you, though you may have thought that. I still don't know any of you can't see what the OP did or a few members said but w/e. Op jumped to conclusions thinking it was only XXR quality problem (with 0 proof for the 100000x time) while you guys indirectly supported him.

Most exhaust use the same t-304 stainless steel, if not, something of equal caliber. All the 'fast cars' that I've seen, even the ones kenny at jotech use on that gtr, skyline, or tc, are all t304 steel.

I've been here a month longer than you I know how much mods make /redtext

35-40whp is the actual HP with full exhaust minus the old jpipes. Dyno and 1/4th proven

Well, as I said above, he was right regarding today's prices. I haven't check exhaust prices since mine was installed (why would I?), so forgive me for not being aware of the increase.

Most may use similar caliber metals, but that still does not mean they are all made the same.

TheChamp bro....I say let's just not reply....obviously Rick sounds like he has something to accomplish in here....

Rick my friend...u are right....everybody should stop trying to figure things, stop customizing stuff...you are right I didn't save money on my exhaust....u are right, I got what I paid for....a person who has a closed mindset will never learn, will never grow and u come across as such a person....I wish u all the luck in life as u will need a lot of that

I never said any of that. I just don't think you should ever make claims you can't back up or question why people would choose not to go custom even if it's cheaper.

And my life's fine as it is & I've done more this year than I thought I would, so keep your belittling remarks to yourself.

Last reply. I promise(sorta)

When I was talking about the exhaust, I was basing it on the 'quality' with the steel used.

And technically they all are. Straight pipe split to a y for the TL. Only the mufflers and resonators are different really. So in a way, yes they are

Listening to the song 'why can't we be friends'

I love you all.

Either way, it sucks for the op. He has to shell out money for his car because of a situation that could've gone pretty badly if he had not caught the crack. I've bent and cracked OEM TL wheels and 3 Piece OZ Wheels and my current RonJons. It happens, no wheel is immune to extreme road hazards over time.

I've been in the OP's shoes, as I know probably most of you have been as well. It just sucks, lets move on. OP, you figure out your situation yet? You going to get a replacement XXR or a new set of wheels?

Some of you guys astound me with your attitudes and your posts. Acurazine is not a competition about who can afford expensive rims or how they manage their finances. It's about helping each other out and learning!

Attacking people, bashing them, insulting them and all of these actions displayed in this thread are counteractive to the goal of helping people.

Rather than stick behind science and logic you guys decide to bash people based on opinions and other non-relevant information.

I'm going to review this thread and send out the warnings/bannings as necessary. Some of you guys in this thread have had warnings before so don't expect a free pass once again.
