dammit....bent my rim

Hit a nasty pothole this morning on my way to work and bent my driver side rim

Its still drivable but at speeds over 55, I begin to get wheel vibration. I'm checking on ebay for a replacement and this is the cheapest I could find for a stock chrome wheel...

Now if you look at the picture, it has a dent in the barrel. Since it dented in the barrel and not on the outside of the rim, my question is...Would it be drivable?

It would have to take a hell of a hit to dent it there .. I don't think I'd buy it.

I guess I don't get it. Didn't you just bend your OWN rim? why would you buy another? Do you want a pair of them?

You DO know that you can get most any bent rim fixed for around $125 ,right? Why not simply use that same $125 to fix the one you have?

Its hard finding a single "chrome" 17" stock wheel and I figure I could buy it and beat the shit out of it lol Just take my aggression out on it for bending my wheel you know

I'm going to look into finding a wheel repair place local

+1 for rim repair.

Even if you can get it to balance (which you probably can) you're presenting an uneven contact patch on the road. Not a good thing.

Long term, unless you can find a good/cheap "lifetime" balancing deal at a tire shop, get the wheel fixed. BTW, most that offer such a deal exclude out-of-spec wheels.

There's really no substitute for round wheels.

The Bro.

I know in my area the "Wheel Doctor" repairs bent rims. He's done two for me which ran me about $160.00 per rim. They are not easy to do but are repairable. Good luck with yours.
