Damaged rim/tire (pic), please advise !!!

Hey everyone. Well what do you guys think, it looks pretty bad, and feels awful too. This is the rear right tire, the front one got a pretty bad beating too. Is it safe riding on this, should i replace just that one tire, or all the tires ? I have around 6500 miles on mire so the tread is not all that bad. Help !!!!

I'm guessing a curb. That looks painful.

I imagine it would be alright to drive on for a while, but I'd be weary of hitting any pot holes or anything. The tire would be thinner at that point where it ripped, so I imagine it would be easier to puncture.

Of course, maybe tires are built so well that there won't be any problems...? Not sure.

Ouch!

Thats worse than mine! I had a similar situation happen to me leaving the toll booth at an airport. The only diffrence I see is a chunk came out of my tire vs. a cut with yours.

Mine runs fine. Good luck.

Thanks. Theres this curb on I-Drive followed by an immediate lane opening to enter into and turn right. Unless you concsiously/carefully do it everytime you'd be fine, apprently this time i wasnt. The car drives normal, i was worried about alignment myself.

I would certainly bite the bullet and get new tires. The side walls are what has to support the car as it hits bumps and potholes. For your safety I wouldn't want to be driving on tires that have sidewalls damaged. Sorry to see that happen to you. Happened to me in my last car and I had to buy new tires.

Besides being torn, that sidewall says "Bridgestone". Definitely replace. Unsafe at any speed.

I was just going to inquire about that. But here is my situation; i would be interested in replacing my two wheels because they're the only ones that got damaged. And i was just looking for an excuse to change me EL42's anyway. Firstly, would you be willing to sell only two of your wheels+Tires??? If yes, we can talk some numbers, you can PM me if you want or email me on intox1221@yahoo.com. I mean if i cud two get new wheels (since mine are scrathed pretty bad), i might just as well stick with EL42's and change em later.

TorontoTL, and the rest thanks for ur input.
